Well that's not what Brad Sewell said last night on 360. I reckon he's got a fair idea.

The boys congratulated him on his game on Judd and he said something like " you can't play on Judd by yourself, he's too good"

I get a bit frustrated by people who can't see the work that teams put into him. Against the wCE he was obviously fcked and they still rotate 4 guys through him just in case.

No he doesn't .

Why is that?

Even against the Weagles he doesn't get a tag. But then the Pies don't tag either.

Opposition sideS know, beat Judd beat Carlton. Beat Swann and you've still got 4 others to beat.

No Murph and our support acts are toillers. Not in the same class.

In: Bower, Lucas, McInnes, T-Bird
Out: Jamo (inj), Kreuzer (rest), Bootsma, Garlett

B: Duigan Watson Tuohy
HB: Yarran Bower Gibbs
C: Simmo Brock Scotland
HF: Robbo T-Bird Armfield
F: Betts Hammer Tex

R: Warnock Judd Carrots
Inter: AJ Ellard Lucas
Sub: McInnes

I'd like to bring JR into the side, but I couldn't quite fit him in. If JR's solid VFL form continues, he should come in sooner rather than later (particularly if Duigan's form drops off again). Collo's not too far off getting another opportunity as well. I also considered Curnow, but Brock is doing enough to keep him out of the team at the moment.

I'd err on the side of caution with Jamo. Give Kreuzer a rest. For the rest of the season, if that's what he needs to get himself right for next year and beyond. He means too much to us and watching him play at the moment is sad.

Garlett to play against Frankston this week. I was tempted to drop Tex too, but I think we have to persist with him for the timebeing. He's a player that we badly need back in form in the forward 50. If he's still out of form when Waite returns (2-3 weeks), then I think Tex will find himself back at Cramer Street too.

Bootsma is experiencing the rollercoaster ride that most AFL players do in their 1st year. He'll get more chances.

Pick McInnes while he's in form. He might even start on the ground if the MC want a touch more height from the opening bounce, in which case Tuohy (who may need a rest or a run in the VFL soon) or Ellard would become Sub.

Play Lucas and tell him to run and run and run. Only hard work will get him into the game.

Let Yarran settle in defence. Tell him to knuckle down and do the basic things. The rest will follow naturally for him.

I don't care if Hammer & T-Bird don't take a lot of marks, but they MUST create contests in the forward 50 and NOT allow Collingwood to take marks from our forward entries. Eddie, Tex, Armfield & Robbo must hunt the ball and the opposition like rabid wolves. Create scoring opportunties from opposition turnovers.

Defence is a real worry, midfielders need to work their backsides off and run to support. We must win our share of the contested ball so that our backs aren't constantly under pressure. Huge game needed from rucks and Judd, Simmo & Carrots. The likes of Scotland, Brock, AJ & Ellard must be switched on and play their role. We played our best footy last year when there was a 'team' approach to defence. That has dropped off this year as players have started to think about themselves too much.

If we nail our chances when they come....who knows what could happen? It would be a very famous victory for our club.

But in all honesty, the scoreboard doesn't matter so much to me in this one. I just want to see consistent effort from the players. Spirit and teamwork is the key. We saw signs of it returning against Geelong & WCE, but we couldn't sustain it. Once that is back, the wins will come again.

Unfortunately abns Ratten said Kruezer is playing and has tinkered with his role so he'll probably play on Cloke.

I'd like to see:

Out: Kruezer Jamison AJ McLean Warnock Garlett
In: Lucas Bower McInness Collins OKeefe Thornton

I'm all for changes especially now it's time to look at 2013, but you reckon Hammer can ruck a game on his own? We'd have to use Watson to give him a breather here and there. Most clubs who play one ruck use a tall forward to give their no. 1 a quick chop out here and there.

Also considering he's played deep forward all year how would his fitness be overall?

Sticks has asked the boys to limp everywhere they go. Shift all the blame onto injuries.

Seriously though... best thing that can happen is we write this season off by round 18, and get this list healthy for 2013. God knows how many guys we're flogging every week, who probably shouldn't be out there.

I'm at training as well and Bower, Thornton and McInnes training with main group.
Boots, Buckley training with the group after the seniors.
Kreuzer was out there as well and looks as though he will play.
Highlights were a couple of 80 meter torps from Watson.

I think Collingwood must be feeling sorry for us; they've ruled out Scott Pendlebury.

Pendlebury won't play.

Didak and Tarrant will play in the VFL.

You heard it here first.........................
(actually, it's on the Herald Sun website, but i've always wanted to say that!)

We've been sorry for the whole competition with key injuries that has been lasting for weeks.

Popped along to training. Boys looked ok. Good to see Murph having a run and kick, but boy has he lost some upper body strength. Hampson didn't train. Off to see the eye specialist this morning. Andrew Walker grimaced his way through the session...he's not 80%. JR trained well. Jamo looked ok. David Ellard the standout - he may be the only one who's 100%! McInnes weighted some kicks very nicely to the leading target as did Matty Watson. Good voice from some of the coaches, Ratts included. So standard day before the game light session. In other words...nothing to see here.

Lachie Henderson had a fitness test before training. Still feeling some groin pain...some good 20 metre sprints tested it out before some squats. Still another week at least I'd say.

A few board members watching on this morning. A Few Good Men? ...they've run their course...they're in denial...Bruce Mathieson has been great playing the role of Col. Nathan "You can't handle the truth" Jessup, but it's just not happening at Carlton... like Tom Cruise's acting...it all feels a bit forced.

Goin by Ratts comments in press conference Kreuz will play but in different role. So I'm guessing he will be playing KPD.... Hopefully not cos it's absurd but ive seen worse from ratts this season and with jamo is in doubt.
Surely if he's fit he'd be in the ruck, if he's not he shouldn't be playing.

In: thornton, mcinnes, Lucas & Collins
Out: kreuzer, boots, garlett & army

Mcinnes. Watson. Duigan.
Scotland. Jamo. Yarran.
Lucas. Carrots. Tuohy.
Simmo. Walker. Gibbs.
Betts. Thornton. Collins.
Warnock. Judd. Robbo.
Hammer. McLean. Joseph. Ellard.

Rather army than joseph but ratts will reward the Cyril job for the next month if he sticks around.
Bower for jamo if injured.
Tuohy & robbo around stoppages to provide grunt.
Hammer & warnock to play majority ruck & pine.
Do not let Lucas be part of sub scenario.

Why are you dropping Garlett and Armfield.
Garlett played a half of footy and had three shots at goal plus he was all over the field and tackled OK.
Armfield has been in our best for the last two months.
Kreuzer should be dropped I agree but wont be.
Bootsma will probably have spent the week at the psychologist getting treatment for PTSD and probably wont play but he will be OK.
