so a hip, eh!! how long has he had it - and what the hell have they been doing playing him.
they are as the bad as the australian selctors playing hilfenhous into the ground in meaningless games in india and ruining him

whats scarier is that melbourne people have been quoted as saying they were happy for him to go as he has chronic hip and ankle issues which will restrict him for the rest of his career.

Of course they are going to say that - what do you expect they are going to say, that they wish he hadn't have gone and they want him back?

Just like all the Collingwood supporters saying that they didn't want Judd after he chose us because his groins were stuffed.

They can have him!! :thanks:

..two, three years tops of some recurring/similar type injuries.. ..plenty of players go through a few years of injuries.. ..also, the Dee's training and rehab facilities have been shizen.. ..he got injured vs the bummers, missed the crows and has played too very physical games back to back.. ..no need to write him off just yet..

You appear to be finding it hard to follow the line of thinking that Melbourne and their supporters would make negative comments about players who walked.

MIL's post upset you, yet you didn't have a problem with a bright spark saying Ellard should be getting a game ahead of Mclean. :hitcomputer:

It will be very interesting to see how we go this week!

First game at etihad for the season, not 100% sure, but I don't think we were too bad there last year.

If Waite is played it would be lovely to see him settle in a position for a game or two, I know Ratts prefers him as a swingman, but gee at the Essendon* game he was bounced from end to end so much it must have been difficult for him to settle into a rythm. Hopefully it is forward, Bower, Russell, Armfield have been wonderful rebounding from defence so his drive back there is not needed as much + whether his form is good or bad, if allowed to stay forward he does give us a viable target.

Would like to see White given more of a run, Dawes (who, lets face it, is a lemon) gave him a bath last week, but this is a player who has come straight from the WAFL and has played 5 games of VFL/AFL combined - and has held himself really well - decent kick, attacks from the back, marks strongly, just needs more experience defending 1 on 1. St. Kilda dont have too many talls floating around atm Kosi/Goddard will most likely be taken by the Bower/Jamo combo, so I say give him another run

Would like to see Waite in for Mclean, Hendo may need a run around in the two's to get the buckets working again - you can see it's almost there - much like Kennedy before he was traded, it just needs to click! Would also like to see the 3 small fellas out again this week, Gartlett didnt have a blinder last week, but overall his form and that of his goalsneak counterparts should warrant another go. FWD line on Setants, Waite, Yarran, Gartlett, Betts, Houlihan looks pretty good to me.

From watching this year it seems all our games are won and lost in the midfield and their ability win the ball and lock down defensively, in the pies/bombers games we were overrun, so if we can get some consistency and a spread effort by the midfield group we shoud give them a decent run for their money!

GO BLUE BOYS!

I think Chris Johnson should be in the team.
His accurate kicking will be a big weapon against the flood that the saint are going to apply.
I have a good feeling about this game.
Go Blues

I just wonder whether the Saints will play the ultra flood....not sure if they need to against us....lets hope they don't and maybe we can get off to a good start early which would force them to attack later in the game....the first quarter tactics will set the tone of the match....

I dont reckon they will go the ultra flood. They will take a leaf out of the maggies book and just pressure us all over the ground and capitalise once we turn it over. Our best hope it to win it out of the middle early and get some goals on the board and force them to adjust. Cant lose the midfield like last week.

Us by 19pts.

I can't believe the way Collingwood punished us after nearly every turnover. It was embarrasing. That one single point left a hollow feeling last week. It was too easy for them in the end.

Great to see Waitey in the side  (that backline looks ok). Would have liked to see 206 back in the team, but Sauce gets his chance to improve on last week - and needs to IMHO.

And I'm pleased in one way that the mail I got on McLean was correct, as his game was too bad to be true last week. Hopefully its not a chronic or degenerative condition.

Johnson's accurate kicking was what brought him to Carlton apparently.

Once he puts on the navy blue his accurate kicking goes the way of Salman Rushdie's social life...

If he puts on the navy blue again I'll personally carry out the fatwa.

Looks a bit like Hadley and Griggs papers have been stamped as well. Especially Hadley ... a strong bodied in and under player who I thought would heve been the obvious replacement for McLean and perfect for the StKilda game. I don't think the MC has been all that great this year. Maybe Gold Coast have been sniffing around and the coach has got wind of it.

Both were injured in last week's VFL IIRC; Grigg in the first quarter & Hadley in the pre-game.

Please please please no Chris Johnson... he is meant to have good foot skills... but honestly all ive seen from him when he plays is clangers and weak attacks on the footy

Waite and Thornton in for Mclean and Henderson

That will do just fine
The way the backline is named is perfect!

His kicking is elite, in training. Once he has opposition players in front of him, he kicks like me, except longer.

BTW this Salman Rushdie's ex-wife (post fatwa)

Is that depressing?
