Wow, that's pretty scary timing Scott.

I'd be seeing if I could get down to the club to collect the guff myself one lunchtime if I was you. :|

There is obviously some weird shit going down as mrs camel and I signed up for the Long Distance Silver member (or whatever it's called, the 5 game a year option anyway), and we both got caps sent to Canberra by post and our membership cards also state the year we first joined up.

Hopefully, this niggles will be sorted out in the future, I'd hate to think the club is losing members due to these delays. :?

that's my worry too. I'm not going to stop being a member because of this, and I don't need reserved seating etc, but I can see how it would put some people off.
I'd ask a friend in Melbourne to go pick up the stuff for me if I thought that would help, but she'd just tell me to get stuffed, cos she's a North supporter.......

I haven't got my cap yet, though I'll be in Melbourne in a week's time so I guess I could pick it up then?

Anyone know if CFC will have caps ready for collection at our first home game?

They should have marquees set up all over the place.
Approach one of them with your membership card, they'll clip it for you and give you your cap.

For anyone that has a 17 game membership and still haven't received your membership card, I'd be hassling the club non stop. Yes they would be flat out with the Wizard Cup win but our membership dept is a little disorganised to say the least.

We renewed our 17 game membership gold back in early Dec, we made several phone calls to the club through Jan & Feb, each time we were given a time period and each time that period elapsed. We also received different stories from different people. One person would tell us one thing and then the next time a different person would tell us something completely different and also say what we had been told previously was incorrect!! Honestly, they were unbelievable! And this was all before we won the Wizard Cup - I imagine they would have no idea what is happening at the moment.

So Scott or KK, my advice is ring every day. Might even pay to talk to the membership manager, she was the only one that knew what she was talking about from my personal experience!

Excuse my ignorance because I am a bit out of touch with the way membership processing works but what happens if you just rock up at the club to pay your membership, does it get processed straight away and you get your goodies. I intend to just get the "Blue" membership, (Shiftwork commitments means I cant get to too many games  )

Did you say you got your membership almost 4 months after renewal? :x

Letter to CFC

Just like to inform you I finally got my membership on Wednesday 9th March!!!
I'm assuming, with all reserve seat holders, in organising three venues this took a considerable amount of time. Hence getting my renewal to you by late November 2004 and finally receiving it yesterday. :? :? :?

Hoping all teething problems will be overcome and renewals for next season will be more streamlined so that we may get our memberships to us within 2 weeks of renewal?

Say if I renew late November I should receive my pack way before by Christmas???
(Incidentally, as per another AFL club who uses the Dome & MCG as their home ground)

I'd expect it to be a lot quicker next year. The change of ground/s would have made things a lot more complicated than normal.

I think the Blues club is just horribly under-resourced at the moment. The queues on Sunday told the story; there was a guy in front of me who cracked the sads and left saying 'they obviously don't need my money'.

we see it in communications, in membership... and I think for all of our turnaround the cashflow situation is still pretty tight.

and they refuse to pay The Ghost his $10,000 fee per article, too.

Well all that I can say is speaking from someone that is in the US. I would rather hear that things are taking a very long time getting to people due to the large influx of new members than to hear that everyone was getting their goodies the next day due to no growth at all in membership.

You see....Good things come to those who wait. Just look at what the club has gone through the past 3 years. The wait is over....Just look at the goodies now. :D

I'm SO pissed off. I paid for mine in December and they have presented the cheque and still no membership.

All due respect to you trishamw0326 but I'm guessing you aren't waiting for your membership to arrive?

I've emailed and called them as has Ness69 and BIT and none of us have got anything from the club. They sent all of us a standard email explaining 'it was coming by the end of the week'. It's the end of the week where is it? I'm so not happy. There is a guy in the membership department who is a rude and condesending person, whom I imagine hates football and is straight out of uni so he wouldn't understand the frustration and disappointment we have.

You know I love this club, I've even bled for it and I'm just so sad. It means something to me, it always has. The bottom line is it's not good enough, we are three days away from taking the field.

  :(

thats fair for some one that hasnt been a member for several years.

I like many here, have been members for several years, and i can tell you, this isnt a one off.

Ive been buying membership from about 98 or so and im yet to have one year where buying my membership hasnt been a stuff up.

Call me unlucky if you want, but in 8 years im yet to have some sort of problem not happen. The only year i got my membership done without any problems was my first year - as i bought it in booths on the day. Every year from there on ive bought the membership before the season has started and am yet to have some issue not come up.

Add to that, alot of us here are 17 games members - meaning we buy a membership that includes all away games, which means we dont have to buy a ticket for our away games.

Our first game this year is an away game - ive paid for membership which includes this first game - why should i possibly have to buy a ticket for the game when my membership should cover it if i get it in time.

Sorry - i love the club dearly - but every year there seems to be a problem - why cant they get it together

Bec and Prez we still continue to be members of the club even in the USA. And for your information Trish is a Carlton supporter who has not ever seen a live game of football.

She supports Carlton becuase of the enthusiasm and passion that comes from myself and all members of the forum.

Well, I believe the club is always looking for volunteers. IIRC Melbelle has helped out with membership in the past, maybe she can shed some light in how things work???

That's fantastic that you both love and support the club from all those miles away, but the thread is not actually about you guys it's about the membership departments useless attempts to once again get my membership to me on time and anyone else's that has not yet arrived in the post. As I mentioned I love the club too, it's not about that either, that will never change. Non-one's doubting anyone's loyalty to the club.

The ironic thing is I'm an AFL member, that means I don't need a CFC membership, but because I am so loyal and because I love the club so much I still buy one every year.

They are offering a service and it's well below par and we as paying members (whether we live in the States or Melbourne) have every right to complain about it if it's not up too scratch.

I was just venting towards the club I was not making a personal attack on anyone's love for the club, there's a HUGE difference.
