Big T - when you say the old one... are you referring to the proper one used between the 1920's and 1997?

That is the best guernsey by far... all the tradition that goes along with it too.

Bluehammer - i think it is worth a try the new one... if they aren't going to bring back the only carlton guernsey that they should be wearing 1920-1997 model.

I am sure i have seen a picture of big nick in training wearing a guernsey similar to the new one being introduced in 2006...

worth looking up?

but the 1998-2005 one was never worn before.

Nah I don't mean the jumper logo, I mean the club crest, as per this thread

http://www.talkingcarlton.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=6580

Jumper logo, I actually like the pre 1997 one as well

I wish our "home game" guernseys displayed the same CFC as we wore in the '87 grand final. We should have an "away" guernsey of which I wouldn't be too fussed what the design was.

No matter how ugly our logo is, it could never be as bad as this

Ever.

I was notified of a change in the Carlton logo by a mate in London who sent the following message to me overnight:

I was on the AFL site today and something grabbed my attention in relation to the Calrton logo at the top of the page. Have you noted that the have slightly amended their logo? It is still basically the same, but has lost alot of it's allure and seems like something that some novice Marketing "guru" has come up with take the club into the future. I like this. I like this alot.

Not wanting to let your club know how to suck eggs, but when the Black n' White part of town takes enjoyment in the fact that your emblem no longer looks imposing, heads must surely roll.

Too early to tell whether the views of our esteemed Collingwood friends are relevant in this case. 8)

The more I see the new logo, the more I like it. There is a progressive feel which is lacking in certain other club's emblems.

yeah i think we should ditch colour, colour demands attanetion and, and confidence, and flair. let's go black and white. And a bird. But not just any bird, lets go for a scavanger bird, a thief, a head diving cowardly bird.

Mind you I am still amazed the Filth didn't choose the Lyre Bird as their emblem, perfect fit for mine!

We could have a castrated gerbil holding itself in pain and it would be a better symbol than Collingwood's. My 3 year old daughter calls magpies "stupid".

Actually, the magpie is a totally wrong animal for Collingwood.

It's smart and industrious. Intelligent and loyal.

A noble animal if ever there was one.

Very appropriate animal! (Sorry Mandy!)

Don't let on however, "The Filth's" bird looks more like an "Indian Myna" which are generally known as the rats of the bird kingdom - quite apt I would have thought.
