North Melbourne have been doing push up's in the puddles in the arden street car park for the last 15 years and it doesnt have seemed to have had an effect on their performance and achievements.

I still remember that Rocky movie when he fought the Russian who had all the state of the art sport technology at his disposal whilst Rocky choose to train with tree logs in the snow......................

Oh how I wish that fantasy could come true!!!!

With all the negative reply's re De Luca's marking and butter fingers wouldd't it just be obvious the guy is not up to AFL standard. The other thing that also worries me is that he has no right side. He may play some handy games here or there but he won't be the one that helps us back up the ladder - whenever that may be.

I rate Deluca and would definitely keep him on. He's agile for a big bloke at close to 200cm and could be very handy up forward.

Granted he's not a great mark and this is one area of his game on which he could improve. Also, he is very left-sided which makes him a bit predictable but then look at Scott Lucas at Essendon*, has he ever used his right foot at all?

Deluca could also improve his ruckwork and offer us more in this area which would be very handy. But a fit Deluca could be very useful in the forward line for us in 2006.

McGrath is far better than some of the players we have on our list.

Bannister and Chambers are names that spring to mind.

I have been told (by a reliable non-Melbourne source ;)) that Chambers struggled for fitness all year after his pre-season setback. I'd give him next year to prove himself.

Chambers should be given the benefit of the doubt and I can't see us delisting him after only one season.

Chambers was pretty good in the WC. Might come in handy for our back to back assault!

Fair enough if Chambers was not 100% fit this year. He would be on a 2 year deal so no point in delisting him anyway. The problem I have with him is not his pace, running ability or anything to do with fitness. Its the fact he fumbles the ball and does it on a regular basis.
At his age and experience it really should not be a problem. Getting fitter and having a proper pre season wont change that. Confidence is a big thing and continuity with playing regularly but still cant see him turning that around.

Hope he does but unlikely.

Granted we don't play on it anymore, but it always looks a picture.

Should have been more specific - stands, training facilities. Apparently Fabian rolled with laughter when he rolled up and saw Adrian cooling down in an ice bath in a wheelie bin.

Are you saying we can afford ice?

Setanta re-signed for two years, confirmed a while ago.

Bentick offered a two year contract while he was in the USA, I believe he has agreed to it.

Oh I heard Setanta was offered 2 years but there was no confirmation of him actually re-signing from memory. Could of missed it I suppose.

I understand we have some volunteer ice collectors who bring it down from the mountains during winter. Not sure what ADrian will do doing pre-season training over summer.
