I forgot White even existed. Yeah, bring Williams in for him and Ben Campo for Motlop. Are there any other SOS replacement options that would allow us to move Young back into the forward line? I don't like the idea of continuing to sacrifice our secret weapon.

Ethan Phillips would be good in defence, but he’s only on our VFL list.

We seem to be covered ok for wing, onball, and defence, but I’m really worried about our complete lack of any obvious small or tall forwards in our VFL. Lemmey has had one good game so maybe he can eventually replace Young, but that’s not our real problem area.

We lose Boyd and Silvagni for this game. Two very good players.

We regain from injury, DeKoning Williams Acres and Fogarty

To be considered from VFL are Docherty or Cincotta.

Cincotta only back for his first VFL game, and didn't star, but he ran with the numbers providing an option all day, and still strong as an ox.
He's the only one who can tag Whitfield and be a danger towards goal, or, he could sit on Green in the BP, and not waste Saad sitting on him.

I wouldn't risk skinny O'Farrell, who is all class, but then again, if he is selected I will clap the decision. I didn't feel Ben Campo earned consideration for a midfield role, and he's certainly not a small forward if anyone is thinking he can replace one of Evans or Motlop.

OUT: Silvagni Boyd Pittonet Motlop Evans
IN: DeKoning Acres Williams Cincotta Docherty

FB: Haynes Weitering Saad
HB: Carroll McGovern O.Hollands ... IC Docherty
C: Acres Cripps Binns.....................IC Lord
F: DeKoning Hewett Cerra
HF: Walsh McKay Cincotta ..............IC E.Hollands
FF: Williams Curnow Young.............IC Durdin

Weitering-Hogan
McGovern- Cadman
Haynes-Brown
Carroll- O'Halloran
Cincotta-Whitfield
Docherty-Green

Your thoughts and analyses are always appreciated, bondi.

The only thing that I would somewhat disagree with, regarding the above, is that Bozo the Clown could replace Motlop or Evans (or possibly both). And ironically, Ben Campo has the same initials.

If Williams doesn't get up. I would bring
In Doc as small forward .
Surely he would do a better job than Motlop

I don't mind your team Bondi but are TDK Williams Acres certainties?

Scans have confirmed a minor shoulder dislocation for Finn Callaghan. A return to play timeline will be confirmed tomorrow following consultation with the club medical team. At this stage it is not deemed to be long term.

Fingers crossed he misses next week.

Seriously couldn't believe they sent him back on when they were getting done anyway.

Carlton type stuff.

Anyone with a niggle: rest, get to the bye and go again. Beat Essendon*, the Eagles and North after the bye, and things are not totally shot.
We are one game out the eight with decent percentage, so it's pretty even and we are better than some our fade out performances and with injuries testing our depth.
Finn Callaghan won't play till post bye, they play us and Richmond into the bye.

Based on the injury report they are expected back next game.
Are they certainties? Is anything a certainty till they cross the white line?

I don't think Cincotta is a certainty, but I would certainly play him to do a minding job on someone.
If he was playing vs Swans he would've been the player able to tag Heeney.

The Cupboard is really bare.

I don't think people realise how heavily hit we've been with injury.
Only mature/ developed players in the VFL are Cincotta and Docherty; the rest are undeveloped kids.

The Swans game is another that got away.

We all know we need to be banking games now and hope we have a good run with a bunch of players back after the bye, and Newman not far away.

We win against the GWS and Effendopes lose to Richmond and we have 8th spot before the bye. If Effendopes beat Richmond, we have the opportunity to displace Effendopes from 8th spot after the bye.

GWS were shocking last week at home against Freo... Based on form, we should smash them by 50 points...

BUT......

In saying that, Carlton is the Trademark team that brings teams into form, so i wouldn't be surprised if GWS goes into second Gear and all their stars fire up and end up running all over us.

GWS did lose 4 of their last 5, so they are in a bad touch.... We should Win, depending on which Carlton will turn up

GWS

Callaghan, Kelly, Daniels and Stringer are injured. Only 4 out injured.

Coniglio should return from injury.

Carlton

Silvagni, Boyd, Smith, Newman, Kemp, Cottrell, Cowan, Fantasia are injured. 8 out injured

TDK, Williams, Acres, Fogarty should return from injury (fingers crossed)

The GWS Tsunami at its peak is driven by Callaghan and Kelly.

Bedford will tag someone. Walsh?

Jones will test his opponents running ability. Saad?

Briggs didnt play in the GWS praccy game and is back to test TDK.
Briggs was the first ruckman to take away TDK's jumping space.
TDK has improved since then.

They beat the Cats at Kardinia the week before.
Their best is very good - Callaghan missing is a bonus

Gws have struggled to find midfield players as they lost their depth players last year
2 at Crows and 1 at Pies.

They could cover the loss of Kelly Daniel or Coniglio they can't any more.

They are in a similar position to Carlton however theirs was players wanting to move back home our depth was pushed out

Wouldn't mind seeing O'Farrell or Charleson on the HBF but too early for them, let them get a good season in the VFL in, maybe give them a run later in the year for a game.
Wilson has been good in the VFL, make him sub as his speed and aggressive run should have impact coming on later in the game.
Fogarty can return in the VFL
