Pros:

Confidence boosting score.
Ball movement.
Walsh, Saad, Hewett, Durdin, Cripps.
Good games again from SOJ, Cottrell and Weiters.
Best games for the year from McGovern and Haynes.
Encouraging performances again from Oli and Lord.
Exciting debut from Carroll. Looks like he could become a star.

Cons:

Defending opposition ball movement.
Inaccuracy yet again.
Only 35 tackles. Hard to see us beating many teams playing like that.
Still not getting enough impact from Fogarty and Motlop (either on the scoreboard or defensively). Although Motlop looked better playing midfield in the last quarter.
Another 2 forwards go down.
Docherty continues to turn the ball over.

One of the worst performances I have seen from an opposition
West Coast are putrid
Our skill level and decision making were not up to standard
Like Carroll
Hope Durdin stays fit
I rate him
Motlop can get it in the middle but poor decision maker

Walsh might be running into form
But really West Coast gave up when Waterman got pinged for holding the ball by McGovern

Hope Lemmey plays next week
Not Young

Agreed.

Negatives
West Coast are worse team of the year. Take nothing but a win from this game.
Too many turnovers going I50 and bad goal kicking.
Too many easy goals with overlap run by the opposition. Better teams will put us away.
Motts needs to try and take first option and not do too much but can play.
Doc is lacking touch but will get there and Ollie Hollands will be a player - give him time.
Injuries to Kemp and Harry. Bloody hell - no luck.

Positives.
We won well.
Better movement inside 50 with shorter kicks.
Little Durds, Walsh and some others finding form. Need Durds to build on this.
Very solid first game by Carroll. White showed more again today - shows you need to play the kids for more than one game.
Hewett, Weitering, TdK in AA form. Cerra needs to play on ball and back to his best.

Next month is huge for 2025, starting now.

Carroll White Haynes all sang the winners song.

They add to the list. Pressure on spots.

Hewett is a star
Good to Walsh hit the scoreboard
Weiters and JSOS Good down back
Actually like Motlop at centre bounces

Charlie slowly coming back
TDK looks banged up
Carroll was pretty good looks impressive
Saad had a better game
Doc still turned it over to much
Durdin was brilliant let's hope he gets a run at it

Kicking at goal abysmal should have won by 100

I thought that the umpires were kind to us

Worry is Mackay Kemp and Lord looking like he was on crutches with moon boot

That was Kemp in Lords sub jumper with a moon boot, not Lord

I was just about to post that too.

i could see pittonet (sigh, gasp) playing next week with tdk a permanent forward.

Please no Pittonet as a second ruck/forward!

yeah i know. if it's up to me, pittonet never plays in our beloved jersey again. but michael seems to love him.

i would like to see tdk permanently forward. saves his body against Xerri, who's an animal.
Agree if Pitto is fit he plays against the X man
Give TDK a chop out as forward next week

Not sure Lemmey offers more competitively than Young - especially if Xerri goes with the old stamp on opposing Ruckman's foot routine,

Mate you’re reading it right. The Govs best game for us for 2 years. He hasn’t been this good. He put his body on the line, within reason. That’s all I ask. I didn’t think he’d get off the canvass after his first quarter hit, but he did. FMD. Next years budget at the Gov household finally sank in….that’s bad.

Tom just got worked over by Bailey Williams. He’ll be saving himself for a Callum Sinclair… or his brother.

I’d go with Skull, who is up and going, before Pittonet.

Good thinking Ags
Anyone with the name Matt should stay away from Xerri too

We’re going to need 2 rugs. I mean rucks next week. Who said that. :sly:

Pathetic skill level
Need to fix out defence
West coast isn’t afl level, no indication of how bad we really are

I don't think it was a coincidence that his best match is the one with the softest pressure rating

2 wins from 11.

Both against this hapless side.

Nothing to read into today's game.

Back it up next week and the week after, and the week after that, and then we'll talk.

Until then, getting excited over today's win is just setting yourself up for disappointment.

We won by 11 goals.

No McKay, Kemp, Newman, Cincotta, Boyd or Pittonet … let alone Smith, Sam DeKoning and can’t say.

The season has just begun.

1 win 100%

All right. Bring ‘em on.
Thats almost the key in that the percentage is pretty reasonable.

Nobody's getting excited. Nobody's saying we're back.

But being miserable and calling the team pathetic after a 71 point win is horse shit. I envy people who have the opportunity to go to gather round, so to see many of you posting nothing but negativity really pisses me off, frankly.
