We play North for the scond time at the 'G, which is interesting.
Also, we play St. Kilda at the 'G even though it's their home game.

My concerns are:

Rd 4: 6 day break against Collingwood (they're coming off a bye)
Rd 8: 6 day break vs Adelaide (they have an 8 day break)
Rd 9: 6 day break vs St Kilda (they have 7 days break)
Rd 15: 6 day break against North (they have 7 days - both sides playing in Perth the previous week)

Every year until things are evened up one must compare Carlton's fixture to the favoured clubs such as Collingwood and Geelong.
Keep in mind Carlton is one of only 2 clubs that gets a million people through the turnstiles every year....the AFL should be bending over backwards to give the Blues the best possible fixture.
It helps even out other "quirks" such as the ridiculous father-son rule. "Oh you want pick 43 for Tom Hawkins...sounds fair".

So the first thing I did with this fixture was compare it to Geelong and Collingwood. I don't see any major benefits compared to them except for the 5 day break bit is good.
Collingwood have six interstate trips, so too Carlton. For all those years that Collingwood had one less interstate trip than everyone else, it would have been nice to reverse it this year.
I would have preferred 5 interstate trips.

The double up teams from the finals...better it is Port and Hawthorn I guess than Brisbane and Geelong (based on ladder positions).

The one match they must put everything into winning this year is Round 3 vs the Bulldogs. Let's hope they can finally get some momentum at this point.

2 matches at Adelaide Oval vs Adelaide and Port isn't good either....one of those matches should have been at Marvel.

Good points.

Especially the Rd 4 one.... that's a huge difference.

Yes we benefit in the following:

Rd 2: Hawthorn 6 day break
Rd 5: West Coast 6 day break
Rd 6: Geelong 6 day break
Rd 10: Swans 6 day break (however match is in Sydney so Swans will win anyway)

Good draw, I don't think hoks will be a top 8 team next year, progress is not linear and all that

I don't mind playing Port twice either, reckon they'll slide.

Mrs bluedog just bought tickets to Ray O'Leary without checking the Carlton fixture first.

We may have had quite a few injuries when we played them this season, but they were sooooo much better than us.

I think Hawthorn will have a good season in 2025.

Boycott the Norf home game at the G so they lose money and are forced to sell their home games to Bali, Darwin or Auckland.

AFL smashed us when we were battlers and didn't give us marquee games.
