Cottrell the first out. He had a grand total of 3 possessions.

AFL app has him at 6 disposals.

He was still garbage though.

We’re back to “flaky” - so North will go into this with a “sniff” - they’ll set themselves for their Grand Final.

I have just realised this game is 4.40 Sunday.
What a terrible time.

Get Pittonet the @#$%&! out of the team. I don’t care who it offends. We are a worse team with 2 rucks. Pitto is too slow and unfit. He doesn’t have repeat efforts in him and he is a big part of the lack of pressure and ease of opposition exits from centre bounce. The amount of times he’s jogging on the spot while the opposition waltzes it out of the middle is infuriating.

Get TDK back playing 80-90% ruck where he belongs and was the second highest rated player in the league over a month of games. And replace Pitto with one of our most reliable and accountable mids who was a big part of our excellent run of form. I’m so fed up with the self sabotage at the selection table.

One if not both of Cottrell and Ollie have to go. Bring Cuningham back in to give us some speed and class. He’s a clean one touch player.

Motlop has to come in for Williams. We can’t risk him given his injury history.

Still fuming

We need to get serious or we’ll piss our season away.
Shelve the two rucks. Makes us too top heavy and slow. Stick with TDK solo and if he needs a rest going forward then play Pitto solo.
Hewett in for grunt is a must.
Williams will presumably be out for a while knowing his injury history. Time for Motlop.
Marchy should make way but Gov presumably won’t get up.
Ollie and Cotts need to find form in the 2s.
Pending VFL tomorrow, I’d try Cuningham again - can’t be worse than the recent form of these two. Maybe even Martin if he can play a full game in the VFL but that’s probably just desperation. Fantasia must be in the mix too, not that that’s a particularly exciting proposition.

Some real pissweak responses in here.

We used to make fun of Richmond for eating their own. We’re even worse.

No guarantees. Piss the complacent rubbish effort of the past two games off and make some sort of statement, albeit against a "lower" team. We just have to finish top 2, if we are remotely serious of getting a premiership this season!

Not disagreeing but have a feeling Geelong will finish second so finishing third may not be a bad result. However, it simply comes down to getting back to winning games. The last two weeks has been a recurring nightmare of the last 20 odd years.

richmond were doing the best with what they had ... we're not like that.

we go 9-0 on a season, and lose one game to a team that applied over 225 pressure, and give us our first loss. voss as if it's been torturing him at nights, flinches and brings back pittonet immediately. and we serve up some hot creamy shit on the field for cripps' 200th.

9-1 with a team profile that is tactically capable of winning a flag. and instead chooses a profile that has gone 2-5 this season, lost 8 in a row last season.

it warrants the criticism, imo.

Really?
Cripps 200
Depleted WBs team
Had a disastrous game last week (kicking 3 of 15 goals) so real opportunity to show it was an outlier performance
Opportunity to consolidate top 4 and top 2 for another week (we didn't know the Ess Melb scores)

The players (and the coaching staff) deserve every bit of scrutiny and criticism the supporter base can muster!!!!

If that's you're definition of "eating our own", it's not mine

We are Carlton... why wouldn't a Norf game be the defining moment of our season?

Yeah nah.

Calling the season over despite sitting in 2nd and declaring we're gonna lose to 17th place North - pissweak. How do you deal with adversity in life if you react like this?

I'm disappointed with the result and performance yesterday but the reaction is over the top.

We just need to go back to basics, stop being so cute with selection and get the win. Forget about percentage booster, statement game etc.

Next week is about WINNING. That's it.

while i don't necessarily agree with the notion, i can see where it comes from.

last season is not that long ago. we were a bottom 4 team, literally, playing with the tall set up. and if not for injuries who knows how long it woulda gone on for? this season we are literally dead last in every defense metric with the tall set up ...

it is completely plausible for this club to shit the bed so drastically we lose to norf and free-fall down the ladder. is it likely? probably not, but it is plausible.

this club has done nothing. achieved nothing. and we're two decades into our rebuild. yet somehow as a club we find the way to be arrogant and get ahead of ourselves??

as members and supporters, everyone has the right to be jaded, scarred and not a believer. or in layman terms, unable to smell what carlton are cooking.

I prefer one ruck and the results show that is the go for our team. However, in the finals last year didnt we play with 2 rucks? Voss might feel finals footy are different (which they are) and more of a defensive tight slog. It might be that two rucks works in finals. Not sure why he felt the need to trial it again or refine it in a game against the Dogs at Colonial but there might have been method to his madness?

We will reset and come home strong. Will have more tickets in the finals than last year.

looking back at the finals, we did have two rucks ... should have beaten swans by 4-5 goals; i'm confident with one ruck we would have. but it was 4-5 points instead as we fell away in the 4th - as is the profile from going too tall.

and dees is the only team to my mind, where having two rucks can make sense. they have gawn, they're a physical, contested possession based team who kick to contests.

but this season with 1 ruck the data and metrics don't lie. we are one of the, if not the most dominant team in the league. imo, you go with that and back yourself to win, and let other teams try and solve that puzzle.

Is this really a must-win? After all, we're still two games clear of twelfth.

probably not in terms of the ladder and finals. probably yes, in terms of flag aspirations. can't see a team losing to the worst team in the comp, (to make it 3 losses in a row, mind) has ever come back to win a flag?

player psyche and confidence and faith in the game plan might not recover?

We’ve been let off the hook massively with the scum, freo, and port all losing. Top 4 spot could have been hanging by a thread
