I would use this week as a chance to freshen up a few players if they are struggling with injury or soreness.

Following this we have a big 5 weeks ahead and names like Cripps, Saad or Cerra fresh could really help

Don't mess with a winning formula!

I agree the players might need a bit of a recharge after this last month and brutal footy style, but the eagles, with respect, are the perfect opponent to come up against at this time.

Keep match fit, only rest players if they can't get up!

Have to disagree. Good sides should be able to shuffle some players without effecting things. McKay went off and it didn't hurt us

Losing 1 or 2 players shouln't effect us. If anything a player coming in should be keen to prove themselves. Like Motlop did

If resting Cripps or Saad allows then to be 100% fit for the Pies and run home I would do it

In a sign of how shit the 21st century version of Carlton has been, we have not won 5 in a row since 2000!

Another hoodoo to break this week.

Well the Good news is we've played finals 49 times that we have won 5-in-a-row and converted that to 16 flags.

Effective flag odds when winning 5-in-a-row and making finals?

2-1

(i.e. 34 / 16)

(Correction made thanks to BondiBlue)

Ah-ha! Indeed you are correct to question that.
Must have been very late when I was doing this last night, think I looked at 1913 by mistake.

:donk:

That being said, it makes beating West Coast even more significant doesn't it?
Carlton have never won a flag Without winning 5-in-a-row!

I don’t like the idea of Young playing key forward for long periods of time, I’d rather stick to a more mobile and agile, team balance and bring Owies back in.

Cowan for Boyd if he gets rubbed out
Pitto for Harry if Pitto is fit. TDK plays forward.
No resting Cripps. Sub him out early if we are slaughtering them.

Might as well eliminate tackling from the game. Change the oval ball to a round ball and call it Gaelic Football. May the AFL R.I.P.

I love it how the above article mentions that our next 3 games are against West Coast, Carlton (go figure) and St. Kilda

Cowans for Boyd
I'd rest Cerra play Dow if hammy is tight.
Bring in Marchbank and send Gov forward to play on his brother
Holland or Binns sub
Owies has been troubled by calf all year so leave in out
