Footage they showed after the game was inconclusive at best. From the blur-o-vision it looked like bit of push and shove, then the Hawks guy copped a harder one than he was expecting and went to ground.

True. The trouble is the umpire (Nathan Williamson?) must have viewed the incident to report Weitering on the spot. Without any clear vision, his account of the incident may be the determining factor.

That's the big concern for me. Footage is inconclusive, they'll generally side with the umpire who made the report on the spot.

Cottrell in for Ed

One of the rucks in for Young, if they are available. Although Young might hold his spot if Weiters goes.

I'd pick 202cm Young as the 2nd ruck ahead of 194cm SOS against Darcy and Jackson if only one of TDK and Pitto come up.

Fyfe to miss with stress fracture, otherwise a full list to choose from

Darcy is in really good form.

Quote:
Two of the competition’s most in-form ruckmen did battle at Marvel Stadium on Saturday afternoon when Sean Darcy and Tim English met for the seventh time over their AFL careers.

A late flurry of goals saw the Bulldogs overrun Fremantle, but an intriguing ruck duel ensued throughout as both lead rucks had a major impact on the match.

The pair shared statistical similarities with Darcy recording 50 hitouts to English’s 30 while they each kicked a goal and featured with their clearance work (4-3 English’s way).

Darcy also tallied 18 disposals, six marks and six score involvements, while English had 10 disposals, 10 tackles and four inside 50s.

Despite Darcy’s hitout dominance, the Fremantle engine room were unable to capitalise, going down in the centre clearance count 10-13.

Heading into the clash, Darcy knew he would be required to run all day to match and exceed English’s work rate around the ground.

“Going up against Tim, he is a workhorse, and he drags you from one side of the ground to the other, so you’ve got to put your runners on,” Darcy told 6PR.

“In the centre bounce, in the first probably two quarters he got me but in the second half I thought I was much better around the ground and I was hitting it.

“We just need a bit more connection with our mids, but he is always a tough opponent.”

Seems as though freo are under the blow torch this week. Will they immediately respond like most teams or take 6 weeks ala Carlton?

Despite their overall disappointing season, I think Freo has a v good coach.
If we can play in the manner of the past two matches, we should win.
If Longmuir can force us off our game, it might be hard.
I imagine Charlie will have a good feeling about this ground. If he and McKay can play the team game as well as they did on Sunday, we should be good. Of course, a lot of that depends on how we go up the field...

I noticed kennedy had a bit of the yips against the Hawks. Hoping that was a once-off and he returns to his best this week. Otherwise, I expect Hewett is the ready swap with Kennedy from the sub role. Did Hewett do enough? (I don't remember him killing it like Kennedy did when he came on as sub a couple of times earlier in the year...)

Quietly confident. Really, really, really quiet.

I have loved the subtle change in dynamics in the team of late.

Kemp, Fogarty, Cincotta, Boyd, Cuningham and Martin have all added that something.

Walsh's running power is back to his best.

McKay showed some real physicallity on the weekend. He actually ran over some opponents who got in his way which was exciting.

Owies does enough to create goals.

Love or merely like Acres, his toughness is a bonus. Sure he shanks a few but he works hit butt off.

Motlop was not performing so he needed a reset.

It will be interesting to see if Cotrell pushes Hewett or Fogarty out this week, I suspect it will be Hewett.

If Pittonett and TDK are fit then what. Sean Darcy is a beast and he will blast Young and SOS off the park in the ruck and around the ground. Plus Jackson is a terrific foil.

Centre Square will make or break us.

Extremely, very quietly confident. :yikes:

We actually look quite a different side to the 6 losses in a row side. Especially Martin & Cuningham, proper half forwards with a bit of experience & nous about them.

Doh! I forgot he even played, so 'Yes'. Love him at the Club but not in the team at the expense of Cotrell or the other 2.
