If Lynch comes in does Plowman make way for Durdin for the extra size?

Setterfield did his prospects no harm yesterday. I had Dow or Hayes as the front runners to replace Cerra in the 23 - but Carroll, Fogarty & Setterfield would be in the conversation too.

Dow just doesnt suit our style of play. He didnt do much in the VFL. All he does he get the ball, draw a player in and handball to players under pressure. Doesnt put his body on the line, doesnt tackle and does really use his pace to take the game on. Certainly wont be helpful against the big bodies of Richmond.

He will only make us slower. What happened to this guys pace and burst?

There is not much in the VFL, as no one really put their hand up.

Setterfield got possessions but wasn’t impactful. Durdin to me looked a bit lost and looked unsure as to his positioning.

By default we are going to have to bring someone in. I honestly dont know who.

Stocker would be my pick to run with one of Richmonds smalls. Would like to see him up the ground and a run in the midfield to throw his body around.

At a pinch Setterfield to run with Bolton maybe? He has done that role before.

But no one stood out in the VFL in my opinion.

Setterfield has that two way running we need. I’d play him in the midfield rotation.

Fogarty and Carroll no way.

Promote Cotters.

Is Cerra a definite out?

From what I saw Thursday night, Richmond aren't anything special and we should not fear them.

Yes they get Lynch back but we just need to better in the midfield.

I think Richmond is playing much better than they were earlier in the season.
Prestia playing makes a big difference to their team Vs Round 1 when he was off early.
However, we are also much better than we were in Round 1 in more aspects of our game plan. We will need to be at our best to counter the absence of Pittonet, Weitering and Cerra.
We will miss Weitering more this week against Reiwoldt & Lynch than against the Bombers’ Peter Wright.
Having said that, I believe Young now is better than Oscar.
And hopefully Marchbank improves a bit after getting through (I’m not expecting a lot from him this season, just staying on the park, incremental improvement, build confidence ahead of a big season in 2023).
Our midfield will need to get back to our brutal best.

Note that in Round 1 we didn't have Walsh (and Charlie was yet to hit form) however I agree that it will be tough without Weitering and Cerra. And Prestia getting injured early in Rd 1 was a big factor.

Same. If he can get near his best his best football as always been in the middle. He's not a wing/HB in my opinion

Cripps, Hewitt, Cerra and Kennedy have attended the most centre bounces for us with Walsh playing the roaming extra mid off half forward. Before Thursday he had only attended 47.8% of centre bounces for the year to date.
I'd suggest he will step into the role Cerra was playing and Fish may attempt to fill Walsh' previous role.
That gives us more flexibility in who we bring in. A half forward, a winger or possibly a rotating mid.

I haven't seen the game on the weekend but Dow had some good numbers.
27 disposals, 7 tackles, 11 clearances and 1.2 goals.

If we are to continue replacing like for like then I'd assume we would be replacing Cerra with either Dow or Hayes (9 tackles).
Cerra is a good tackler and we need that in the middle.
I'd question Dow's two way running over Hayes, but Hayes could struggle with the pace for his first game in the seniors for x amount of years.
Either one or the other for me in a like for like replacement.
I can't really see Voss mucking around too much with the team structure as he hasn't yet, his roles are becoming clearer in my view and I don't think Setters will play that inside role (once again with not watching the VFL game I assume he is on wing or forward flank).

I'd say Cottrell gets to play again (in the 22) before any further changes. So to bring in a Dow/Hayes/Setterfield would be a second change, imo.
