Dow just doesnt suit our style of play. He didnt do much in the VFL. All he does he get the ball, draw a player in and handball to players under pressure. Doesnt put his body on the line, doesnt tackle and does really use his pace to take the game on. Certainly wont be helpful against the big bodies of Richmond.
He will only make us slower. What happened to this guys pace and burst?
There is not much in the VFL, as no one really put their hand up.
Setterfield got possessions but wasn’t impactful. Durdin to me looked a bit lost and looked unsure as to his positioning.
By default we are going to have to bring someone in. I honestly dont know who.
Stocker would be my pick to run with one of Richmonds smalls. Would like to see him up the ground and a run in the midfield to throw his body around.
At a pinch Setterfield to run with Bolton maybe? He has done that role before.
But no one stood out in the VFL in my opinion.
I haven't seen the game on the weekend but Dow had some good numbers.
27 disposals,
7 tackles, 11 clearances and 1.2 goals.
If we are to continue replacing like for like then I'd assume we would be replacing Cerra with either Dow or Hayes (9 tackles).
Cerra is a good tackler and we need that in the middle.
I'd question Dow's two way running over Hayes, but Hayes could struggle with the pace for his first game in the seniors for x amount of years.
Either one or the other for me in a like for like replacement.
I can't really see Voss mucking around too much with the team structure as he hasn't yet, his roles are becoming clearer in my view and I don't think Setters will play that inside role (once again with not watching the VFL game I assume he is on wing or forward flank).
