Would be nice to win, but please, there are absolutely no ramifications for losing. Makes no difference and will be forgotten by early Monday arvo.

THIS.

If we lose to those cheating turds next week, then all the improvement physically and mentally this season will have been for nought.

We need to ruin them like George Bush ruined Japanese dinner.

If we'd lost today I would've been worried about this game.

We haven't won our last game for the year since 2004 when Justin Davies specialised the Pies for a one point win.

A draw with Essendon* in 2014.

I disagree. If we lose we make martyrs of them, give them the perfect high point to end their season on, and their mouthpieces will be even more @#$%&! intolerable than usual during the whole offseason. This could be our last chance for a long time to humiliate them and smash their spirit, and it's a chance we must take.

It is a key performance indicator.
Win more than 4 games
Get new game plan
Blood some youngsters
Beat Essendon* twice.

Must win.

Be nice if the club has struck some deal...."we'll get you to 200 and then....take the honourable way out"

The Davies game was a day game earlier that year.

Yup.........

this match reminds me of literally an exact
same situation i found myself in...!

it was a breezy Wednesday afternoon that late autumn
day...when we were lining up for the U16 boys
100m at Cranbourne High...!

the track was on a slight decline...but was offset
by the very same steady head breeze mentioned in the
last paragraph...!

i felt like i was slight favourite...which was confirmed by
Mr Almond our music teacher at the start line...he
looked over at me with a grin and said..."I'm on you"...!

hmmm....I've just stopped to roll a cigarette and thought
about Mr Almonds' comment...and how Mr Almond
was a music teacher...and how Mr Almond liked to
have visits from students after hours...and how
Mr Almond racked up lines of...stuff...on his desk in
his private music room office...!

not allegedly either...!

i may or may not have changed Mr Almonds'
name...may he Rest In Peace...!

so aaaanyway...my only real threat was pretty
surfer boy Byron Exner...with his flowing mid parted
hairstyle and wry grin...!

i knew if i finished in front of Byron I'd win...!

the give away for the confidence was...that
only Byron and i were wearing spikes...enough said...!

we took our marks...i was ready...bring this chit on...!

BANG...we're off...I'm running well...i didn't turn
my head at all...just went...!

at about the 80m mark i notice people across the
finish line...the were waving their arms frantically...what
the hell i thought...only to be told it was a re start...!

i make my way back to the start...only to see Byron
Exner still standing there...with his hands on his hips
and that stupid grin...!

apparently he missed the start...but claimed he was
trying to stand up because he wasn't ready...!

the grin said it all...COME on MAAAN...!

so there we were...i had to go again...he for the first
time...!

even Mr Almond was thinking about jumping
off me...especially now that Leif Garrett was the
favourite...!

we took our marks again...i was nervous...i was
shaking...but i was £#@&ing angry...!

we were off...this time i turned twice...once after
15m to see if he started...and the second time 10m
from the end...just to see how far behind me he
was...because he sure as £#@& wasn't going
to be in front of me...!

KSSSSSS...good guys win...bad guys lose...!

EXACTLY like the game this week...!

sure it would've been better if Byron Exner was
an Ess n Doomed supporter...and we were both
wearing club colours...and bouncing a football...!

but hey...!

all i know is...not even a 7 year old Usain Bolt
would've beat me that day...!

let alone Mr Almond...!

kindest regards tommi

I was thinking you were going to be too [REDACTED] after the first effort Tommi, but that's just G&D shining through.
Monumental effort
