Now that we are over the flu that ripped through the club, the Australian swim team and the Australian Cricket team we should go ok in this clash against the Dees.

Was that the flu or a chicken bone lodged in their throat?

On Saturday the commentators were saying that they couldn't remember a recent game that was more 'one one one' than the way we played against Brisbane.

That worked well ..

McKay in for Jones.
Murphy in for Thomas

My father in law in a Dees fan, and he's starting to get c*cky and talk Finals. Would love to shut his trap with an upset win!!

It's really hard to see Thomas keeping his spot after playing that bad. Whatever the reason is, it just wasn't anywhere near an AFL standard game from him.

Not sure if I want to see Carlton win or Norf not play in finals more.

Conundrum.....I hate this time of year in these decades of being crap.

we need to respond and beat melb ,we need to add pace into side and can we not please go the long bomb into the fwd line for the 100th time. This game is also a good test for bolts lets see if he tries something different.

Interesting because I didn't hear anything like that until the last kickout.
Carlton play a 1.5 defensive system, which is, everybody has a man and a half. So they have to look after someone but peel off when their 1/2 a man gets into the action.
It works pretty well unless they are thirty metres apart.

Or two players go after a half and leave one or even two free ....that happened quite a bit on the weekend . not sure if the Lions orchestrated it....or our players were asleep. Two blues would go to a player and leave someone free, usually on the attacking side. Only for a split second, but was always enough to get a break..

Taken from AFL.com.au with thanks

"The Blues are the worst centre clearance team this season, averaging only 10.2 a game. They are ranked ninth for hit-outs. Melbourne leads the AFL for hit-outs and sixth for centre clearances"

Max Gawn at the centre bounce.
Around the ground where there is no line drawn, he is even better.
This is a great opportunity for us to shark everything.

Imagine where we would be without Cripps. We'd be worse than last!

I've heard Melbourne supporters already talking about the Geelong game the week after. Would love to knock them off.

Getting knocked out of the finals race by a lower side...we've had it done to us, & now it's our turn to dish it out. I hope the coaches drum that in all week.

They should treat this as a big game & a big test.... Melbourne are young & confident but they aren't that good yet. And they'll be nervous

Winnable.

Go Blues

Yeah, it is a bit embarrassing watching him out there. Summer or Lamb I would prefer. Daisy was a mercurial flanker/running machine back in the day...he is now treacle slow, lost all speed and acceleration and kicking ability due to his ankle injuries...which doesn't leave us with much. A shame for the club and him, but sometimes the body just won't let you do things it could before.

He's just about the only one who goes for first possession! Curnow is tagging and Gibbs mostly waits for the feed from Cripps to use his skills. Desperately need more inside mids.

Last year we were one of the best clearance teams and came last after a miserable year.

He had our only key forward playing a 3.5 offensive system then many wondered why he struggled.

Extended bench of Armfield, White, Sumner, Thomas, Everitt, Boekhorst and Graham.

It'll be very interesting to see which way they go.
