saints have done very good list management and drafting

they won the spoon a few years back and bounced back well

our pick 8 that we traded for jasksh wiley and boekurst is a complete stuff up again by us

FMD let it go - that shit was pre bolts and co.

We went to the draft last year and picked up 5. Three of which we know can play.
The club has consistently stated that it wants to build the right way so I'm expecting more good drafting this year and the next.

Bolton: We've got areas across our list that we want to improve. We'll continue to build depth, but it will take time. #AFLBluesSaints

Did you want that in acres or hectares?

Bolton: We looked a little tired and sluggish today on the back of a tough month. #AFLBluesSaints
Bolton: The Saints had around 132 marks. Defensively we weren't anywhere near as good as we've been this season. #AFLBluesSaints
Bolton: @Walkytalky1 has been a great servant. I think in time he'll be known as a trailblazer for our club. #Thanks1AW
Bolton: A win is never as good as it seems, and a loss is never as bad as it seems. We need to understand that. #AFLBluesSaints (a few on TC need to think about this one)
Bolton: Kerridge and Curnow did an OK job on Jack Steven. We'll keep rotating players in that negating role. #AFLBluesSaints
Bolton: We've got areas across our list that we want to improve. We'll continue to build depth, but it will take time. #AFLBluesSaints

I think many on TC need to think about everything here.

I know where we are and many TC members are just observing the poor skills and application of too many players currently in our side. It is crystal clear BB knows exactly what he is doing and what needs to be done. As I said previously, what transpires come list management time at the end of the season will give a good indication of our direction. Still hamstrung with the ridiculous contract for one D Thomas though.

I know we are rebuilding.
I know it is at least a 3 year journey.
I know we are tired
I know the kids are having a crack
I know there are spouts and a building team plan
I know we have gaps in our list
I know it is not about this year
I know I should get over it

But I fricken HATE losing!!!!

A very meak performance, and lets be honest, the Coaching was caught out too - a number of times we had 1 or 2 rucks in D50 and only their forwards. No idea what was happening or who Rowe was chasing.

On many occasions too Casboult would have it outside of 70 from goal and there was just no one there; even going in-board to Simpson or Docherty would still see no one there.

Pros: SImpson , love the man; Cripps and Touhy
Cons: Many.

Knowledge and application (regarding list management) are two different things. The fact that we seem to be linked to so many players makes me think we'll land one or two at the expense of depth. One or two good editions each year won't cut it with as much junk as we have on our list. We need at least four best 22 type players each year for the next three trade/draft periods, without losing any of the good younger players we already have. It's going to be tough.

I wish it was a 3 year journey

I am thinking more like 5 - 10 years with no guarantee of success

We have had limited success for 21 years now, so what's another decade in the scheme of things

The more we try to hasten it, the worse it will get.

The Year is almost finished and we are yet to Sign contract extensions to Jones, Tutt, Clem Smith & few of the other guys... What are we waiting for? We are going to lose them to opposition teams soon :(
