One really horrible turnover. But was one of our better players. Had a good month.

Phillips has gone past Kruez.
Levi back as 2nd ruck changing fwd, with Phillips the main man could be a better option

Leave Weitering forward with Casboult next week and let Jaksch get some confidence in defence, where he improved as the game went one.

Not sure Casboult is an automatic in
While he's been a little down he'll be straight in, leave that in no doubt. If we don't play 2 key forwards then we'll do no good. Same each week when we don't.

I like that too. Much better. The side is much better when we do that.

Good effort, skills and ball winners lacking. Too much left to Gibbs and Cripps.

Simpson amazing again - incredible leader.
Cripps / Gibbs great
All of our recent draftees showing plenty. Imagine if we had SOS picking for us earlier, might have a much better team.

KJ plays with almost no confidence....will be a challenge for him and the coaches to get his head in the game.
Defence held up well again
I'd replace lamb with BB next week, he was a bit ineffective.
Right in it against a much more experienced team.
Building a nice core - just need to keep drafting well and build support through the midfield.
I hope Simpson never retires

Reckon that last few minutes of the 3rd qtr killed with 3 errors in 4-5 min costing us goals. Could've won otherwise.

Noted that when we played a faster, more open style when we won 6 from 7 that we made far fewer errors.

WC were much more assured with their stuctures which naturally caused our young players some confusion and turnovers.

We're learning how to structure up at different stages and it's going to take time.

surprisingly good effort - with no 23, charlie and sos in the foward line - this game just indicates the only way for our club is to get into the draft and quickly, get as many high draft picks and go bang.....

I've said it a hundred times...here's #101; Weitering kicked big bags of goals as a forward as a junior.

A fwd line of Weitering, SOS, McKay and Curnow makes me drool.
Just need a couple of good crumpets and we're set.

If we can get a Marchbank, to go with Doc, SImmo, Plow, Byrne, the backline is looking ok as well.

Yes..Id prefer we start looking for a star defence recruit. Ita not that easy to find forwards..and Weitering is one out of the box. Hos calm manner would be a huge asset.

So much love for charlie and so much hate for jaksch. I thought Jaksch was awful today but charlie was no better.
Thought he struggled to be honest. 1 good mark. Jaksch with great courage in the 3rd

The non-mark to Curnow in the third(?) was just baffling. What happened to the man-in-front rule?

4 years difference in age and experience. Curnow at least laid tackles, took a couple of marks and kicked a goal. Jaksch was awful for 3 quarters, non-competitive.

I only watched the last (lucky!), but I thought it showed why the mooted trade of first and second round picks for the GWS 4 is flawed thinking. Weitering, Charlie, and SOJ show so much promise. Let's get back in the business end of the draft again and get some top notch talent to supplement what we've got.

A final point... I don't know how you do it politically, but Phillips deserves every chance to get a game in front of Kreuzer when Casboult is back.

C.Curnow and Jaksch finished with 2 tackles each...lol.

Jaksch lacks confidence. Still only 21 and building up. No hope of him doing any good as a forward when we have a half time total of 3.3. A couple of acts in the 2nd half when he did attack it tells me it's a confidence issue. I saw the VFL game in Geelong in April where he contested marking and attack on the ball was something outstanding. Soon as he plays a couple of good games in the seniors he'll be alot better as he'll feel he belongs.

Just back from the game and most points have been covered.

Agree KJ wasn't great but should be given a few games for continuity and looked much better in the backline.

As for the weagles ... premiership contenders ...

Great effort and just need to improve our skills. Terrible turnovers cost us at least 4 goals.
Umpiring was terrible again.
Fantastic second half by both Gibbs and Cripps.
WCE will not win the flag, not impressed at all.

Was going to post similar. Went at 92% d/e with just that one disposal clanger. Got caught one other time taking to long to dispose of the ball, but thought he was solid today. Always better down back.
