Pick 60.. but didn't Wiley say they were "thrilled"... they thought he'd be the "steal" of the draft... they "can't believe he slid to them"... etc.

Sorry to say it, but Bolts should make an example of him for the rest of the kids. Relegated to the magoos and delisted.

Tell us how the interviews went with him.

You were obviously there .

They probably didn't bother...only pick 60

Curnow?

Free pass because he's a top 10 talent?

I doubt Clem will make it but it's likely that it's because he's a bit small, a bit light, not quick after the first 10m and not a great kick.

The lad obviously needs a good support network around him. I would like to think the new regime will have that in place. Personal responsibility for one's own behaviour is the key here. Let's see what he learns from this.

And somebody at the club thinks that Smith and Jones are a better bet than Holman...

He made a mistake, let's see if he learns from it. Some of the criticism seems a little harsh.

“We are clearly disappointed as we’ve worked really hard to reset our standards, values and behaviours. It has been reinforced to Clem, and the rest of the playing group, that this type of behaviour will not be tolerated.

“Clem has apologised to his teammates and was obviously very remorseful. As a consequence of his actions he will undertake additional training as well as broader education.”

“This is not a lesson just for Clem, but to our whole playing group that this type of behavior is simply unacceptable. We expect all of our players to uphold the highest possible standards.”

A win/win for both the club and Smith.

The punishment of extra training is just the thing Smith needs.

It worked well for Betts and Scotland a few years ago.

Agree, more training can't hurt (unless an injury occurs) and he's not on his Pat Malone with a pre-season incident. Work harder, you know the consequences if you step out of line, and hopefully develop quicker. Ball's in Clem's court for the outcome.

Without knowing the full story, some knob may have been goading him for we know, or the could have been the tool in the mix, it seems the club is most disappointed about the excessive drinking.

Not a bad idea... for all footballers

At my work we put new graduates on the production line for 2 weeks before they start their designated roles, to give them a sense of how their designs/decisions may impact down the line.

As for footballers that may not be deemed as 'good blokes' and get a cushy media role, it may give them an idea of whats potentially out there if they don't commit 100%.
