the Club is forewarning us:

Quote:
The Blues are likely to be without class midfielder Nick Stevens, who is scheduled for best man duties at his brother's wedding in NSW next Saturday, while captain Anthony Koutoufides is a chance to return after a knee injury.

Let me get this straight,

Nick Stevens is a "contracted" player with the Carlton Football Club who like every player must attend training, functions and games unless the club gives him permission not to attend.

So, who makes the decision here :?: :?:

I think Nick for the sake of team morale and unity and as a player in the leadership group should say he wants to play..

However, in saying that, if Kouta is going to play, who do we take out?

Johnson!

Nope. No way.
We are going to need all the midfield power we can get.

I'd be looking at taking Karl out in exchange for Kouta.

Lucablue, you can't just whip your Johnson out.

So you're on $300,000 per year, and you're seen as one of the most important people in your organisation. Your employer has a cashflow crisis and needs all the help it can get revenue-wise. Your employer has also suffered greatly over the last couple of years as other companies have overtaken it.

Now there's a chance for you to help your employer earn $220,000 in a single evening. A chance for you to help your employer regain some respect in the marketplace, and perhaps even bolster revenue from other streams.

A chance for you to help your workmates achieve something good - something that they'll celebrate amongst themselves and take into the season proper.

I tell you what I'd do. I'd look at that $25,000 A MONTH that my employer gives me for DOING MY JOB and I'd go right on ahead and do it.

Sorry 'bro. But I wasn't the one who scheduled my wedding on Wiz Cup final night.

John M - spot on.

I feel for Stevens as it is obvious that his family is important to him, but let's look at the postives for him if he does play:

1) becomes one or if the only present day player to have won (if The Blues win) three preseason premierships...

2) he would assist thousands of people who have gone through over 5 years of pain week in week out watching their team achieve absolutely nothing. Now is the time to deliver some pleasure for suffering blues fans.

What is better helping out one person or thousands of people..
I would go for helping out thousands of people.

I have to agree with you Phoenix. I don't think Karl has done enough pre season, I'm surprised this hasn't been spoken about more already. I don't see Karl starting round1 unless something changes dramatically. I think Sporn, Carrazzo, Morrell and Bannister are all ahead of him at the moment. He was quite again on Saturday night.

Given that Teague, Thornton and probably Livingston are I think certainties for round1 baring injury where does this leave Karl?

I think McGrath also is really making a case for inclusion - where in the 22 will Karl be if not back in defense?

Put it this way...

If Karl goes out and Kouta doesn't come in, I reckon either Bentick, Betts or Setanta may come in.

He played ok against the Bombers from memory. I still think we need Karl to match up the oppostion in defence if they decide to stack it with talls. Bulldogs traditionally play a fairly small forward line anyway .. which may have been the reason we didn't see much of him last Sat (anyone know how much game time he got???).

Interesting to see whether Carazzo or Karl gets Matera )if he plays of course!).

So what gives with Stevo? The paper said he would advise the club of his decision this morning. Any official word yet?

The only thing that is official according to 10 news is that he will make a decision tomorrow after consulting his family.
Surely if he wasnt playing he wouldve told us and we couldve avoided the who-ha
