..with their slow start, they may not be able to get ahead on points, so being level but with a higher percentage could be what they are now chasing....

..we should play all our hacks and just go the knuckle.. ..we know they will....

Just hope we don't let them intimidate and dominate us.

I think Barker and SOS will expose a few of our senior players to see if they have the fight and competitiveness needed for next year and beyond.

yep ... couldn't agree more. hawks have put their foot down on the gas and are revving up for another flag run.

we're not even a speed bump in that journey.

The good news is we get to play the Hawks Twice in the next 7 weeks so we can soften them up this week and come in for the kill next time.

yeah,
we need to drop quite a few of our best.
can't risk winning this.

It will purely be about which Hawthorn turns up. If it's anything like last night it will be ugly.

I am not sure I would want to bring guys like Jaksch Smith or Boekhurst for a game like this.

Interesting chat with Jaksch.

Northern have a bye next week, wonder if he'll get a rest or continue his good form with Carlton ?

Hawks have just smashed two of the three competitors for the flag. Like TruBluBrad said, best to not look at the scoreboard if you are going to watch, just look for continued improvement of Holman, Buckley etc.

We were ok for three quarters but really fell away in the last which I believe is a consequence of how much inexperience was on the field.

At least Barker swung Henderson back against Freo, hopefully he stays there and we can get a look at Jaksch up forward.

The blokes who have been playing hurt and need a few weeks off can settle a few scores ... (who knows, it might even help us on the scoreboard).

Lucky we played Hawthorn, given Brisbane will be lucky to win again on current form, we need to get our % down to their's so if they do pull off a win they jump us on %.

Also wouldn't bother including Walker anymore, only a matter of time until he is declared done for the year (and I wouldn't be surprised if he calls it a day - knee is cactus).

I think someone quoted the fact that they have beaten Freo and Sydney by a combined 27 goals.

therefore, we are half the side of those two sides, so a loss of less than 27 goals is considered a victory.

if there is even a hint of rain or real cold weather ... it could be a watch from home game so you can turn it off .... its going to be nasty.
