great read (apart from the Fisher comments), I'm curious as to what sort of reaction Andy 'Bomber' Maher got on the night.

I hesitantly offer this post because I fear I'll be corrected in some way.....however.....last night I switched over to the last minute or so of ''Footy Classified'' on CH.9; with Caro..Lyon..Hutchison, and Lloyd.

It was the ''Caro's Arrow'' segment; where she voices a pretty forceful opinion on some AFL subject or person.

I had missed the start of her spiel; but it was apparent that she was heaping praise on Brendan Fevola.

I surmised she had met up with Fev at the big CFC night at Jeff's Shed, and had a good talk with him.

She was full of praise for him and lamented that he should've won a few Coleman Medals; and been acclaimed as one of Carlton's greatest; not just one of the ex players.

She said he was directionless whilst at Carlton without any person/group/ or virtually anyone keeping him under control with an iron hand that was needed (probably in hindsight)

That's just about all I heard of her segment; and wish I'd heard all of it.

IMO.....it was always obvious to me that Fev was an incredibly talented once in a lifetime forward at our Club that seemed to play without much discipline.....mores the pity.....glad I saw him play though.

Not really.

All the salivating ..er.. i mean celebrating is going on in the Bombers thread..

You should hang out there MF, do you the world of good.

Maybe you could take a break from all your positive posts about Carlton.

Or would that defeat the purpose?

Seems like you heard just about all of the segment Warbs. I watched it and can't recall much more.

What Fev could have been...

The different video packages for the decades and the top 5 players are sensational.

I recall she led the sack Fev brigade for years, then when we did finally sack him she gave us no credit and said we didn't do it quickly enough and now she says he should have been one of our greats but was let down by our lack of control. :screwy:

Is this "iron hand" now at Richmond keeping Dustin Martin on the straight and narrow ... ???!!!! And Marley Williams, and Krakouer, and Murray Newman, and Courtney Dempsey ... that's right, only Carlton cheats and only Carlton lacks control over its players. :garthp:

I attended the event and must say that its the best CFC event ive ever attended. Being in the same room as all my CFC heroes from my childhood was a surreal experience. Even better, EVERYONE was happy to mingle and stop for photos.

Two negatives:

1. As mentioned earlier, we never got to sing the club song (there was a small rendition at the end of the night but it was too late by then);
2. it was alarming to see so many of our current players drinking HEAVILY!!! Many of them were pretty smashed and acted like young morons. I wont name names.

The summary at the start of this thread is pretty spot on.
