There were a couple of missed chances late.
Garlett takes that mark and has a shot but the worse one was the left foot snal from 15 out that was only a metre and a half above the ground and bounced off a Geelong player.
MM leaving Rowe on Hawkins too long.
Those are the sorts of things that cost us the game. Not the umpiring. I agree that they shouldn't 'put away the whistle, especially when it's in the goal square but that happens every week. And if MM thinks the umpiring cost us the game he should say so and we cop the fine. What's $20k in this environment? He almost said it about Yarran's mark last week that cost us the game but fell short. maybe the Menzell one will tip him. But that doesn't take away the fact we grabbed defeat from the jaws of victory.
In the last two minutes we had twenty possessions and NOT ONE of them was a kick to a mark. We just belted away instead of looking for an inch of space and controlling the footy. One mark and we win.

I tipped us to lose by 25 in a hard game so i am disappointed with the loss but happy we had a go. It would have been pretty easy to read the papers this week and get thrashed by ateam coming off a hiding.

Well done boys. You'll learn from it. That amount of intensity every week will win more than they'll lose.

Next week Hawthorn I think. We owe them. Then Collingwood.

Some you win, some you lose. We could have won this but we should have won last week. That's what kills you.

Got to the gate prematch - apparently an all ticketed game: extra charge on top of membership. We don't even sit at thiis venue. So we left. And guess what? 10 000 empty seats. Stop making it so hard for people to enjoy the footy.

Was proud of most of our players, just a couple that look great with the ball but are half paced without it.
I was sure we were going to get a free in the end.

Yep. Good game. Should have got more bang for our buck early but that is weekly thing that needs to be sorted.
Liked Gibbs game and even big casboult . He still had a few too many score involvements for the cats and a couple of anti score involvements for us but overall he presented well and his ground work was Kruezer-esque.

Better coaching by Strangelove. With a bit of luck we could have beat them. They havent looked much over the last month so its hard to know what to take from it.

Hopefully we chin the hawks next week.
