They are saying that Curnow May have broken his leg

If that's true, Curnow coming out onto field again is remarkable.... I think it's a real bad Corkie though

3-2

This.
The season is shafted because of a bad start. We can't expect Curnow to get up next week.
Touhy looked proppy.
WCE will be super tough but the reality is we have one loss a season that shafts us and we have already had it this year. To play finals they have to win something like 13-14 more games out of the next 17. And we haven't played any of the really good sides as yet for 4 losses.
They have made it ver y hard for themselves.

But this was a good win and IMO good because a few of the lesser lights chipped in for their bit.

Warnock had his best game for two and a bit seasons.
Bell had a massive game even though his stats might not sow it.
Curnow kept Libba quiet.
Cripps had a couple of touches and showed plenty of guts.
Lucas played one of his better games for us. Everitt had a few touches and Thomas.
Murphy, Gibbs, Carazzo, Hendo, Walker and Waite had presence. Rowe was adequate. Touhy was better and did pretty well on Cooney.
Yarran had an influence and tackled a bit more. The three tall forwards made the defence nervous and worked even though Levi didn't get a goal.

Team effort really on the face of a lot of pressure and injuries.

I'm not the best lipreader in the world but I think I saw Judd say "it's OK" in the middle of a discussion with someone.

It's almost 5:00 a.m. Do I go to bed or take the dogs to the beach?
Decisions....

Happy with any win at present.
Good tackling pressure, run, risk taking, breaking the lines, and effort.

Nah, after running around for a bit, his whole leg gave out around the knee.

Fibula or meniscus, I reckon.

He gave us ownership of the #brave hashtag for this week at least. Sacrificing your still best player in order to win that hashtag was inspirational from the coach.

Plenty to work on, but intensity couldn't be questioned.

Two highest tacklers for the match were Murphy with 11, and Lucas with 9.

#44 will have to take his place as the shutdown player.

Rarely comment on best players or otherwise however I would recommend that people have a look at the last quarter in particular and focus on the desperation of Simmo and Andy Walker.

Both absolutely determined and busted a gut. These 2 guys bleed for the Club!

Lucas attempts tackles which I like, though their still not very good.

It's a start though

Which leads to the question: WTF was Walker doing acting like such a pathetic Flower in round 1?????

I found it extremely difficult to emotionally invest in the game.

Glad they put in the effort but I'd like to see them do it all game, every week for a few months before I'm ready to re-commit.

Prefer to win than lose but this group's burnt me that many times that I don't really trust them any more.

Murthy cops it week in-week out about his leadership. Tonight he was fantastic I thought. Had Wallis tagging him. Broke away from him and won that battle. Took the responsibility for shots at goal. Nailed 2. Disposal was good and picked the right options, and showed up as probably our smartest player out there.
