Its as though there has been a cloud of sedatives sitting over Princes Park for the last 20 years. People roll up to the club, draw their wage, feel like it is all wonderful, while in the real world, people arent even glancing at us as they drive past. We have drifted so far in our haze that we don't even notice it. We are still full of our own self importance.
In my nearly 50 years of passionate support of Carlton, I have never felt so despondent. Even when Jack shagged us with his clumsy salary cap breaches, I felt so strongly compelled to jump in and support the club, I would have done anything for them.
I am spent. Beyond the rage. Beyond that gut wrenching sense of loss.
I cant see where our wins will come from and I believe it will only paper over the cracks/canyons.
First we start with the board. They oversaw this mess. The whole recruitment team should be thrown into the street. Shame on them. Hampson & Grigg! Priority selections? Even at their new clubs they are middle of the road. They have plenty of mates.
I think I'm done with Carlton. No more coughing up to get names on honour boards. No more memberships. No more anything. I've got a life that is full and busy. I've no more time to invest in this rubbish.
Plenty of people around Carlton pull good money to be part of something that many of us would lose teeth to be part of yet for so long now there has been nothing but excuses. We as supporters should never have accepted this. I think we are partly to blame. At least Richmond fans had the drive to dump a load of sh!t outside the ground.
Up ya blue boys. You are rubbish
Elliott put us in the quicksand.
Then Collins.
Then Smorgan.
Then the common denominator Kernahan
And we are still sinking.
If we were in the real world we would be ready for receivership/takeover/liquidation. Take your pick.
I have been following the CFC since the mid '60s and have been willing to put up with the pathos of the early 2000s as the club rebuilt but this is getting ridiculous as it is going backwards as Gold Coast as and the Giants have come on the scene.
And now Melbourne have beaten us. Was at a function last night and a couple of Melbourne mates acted condescendingly towards me. The final insult.
Kernahan should have resigned last night.
Mick's on a contract, he isn't.
