Yet another kick Carlton while we are down article. What is this obsession with journo's and Carlton at the moment?
What a stupid article, why did he have to write it?

The obsession from these journos is that they are finally getting their payback on the team that arrogantly and expertly used to smash the teams they followed/barracked for in the 70's, 80's & 90's.

true...

plus Carlton was the only club that sent in ASIO agents to secretly record Alavi spilling his guts on what the EFC* were being injected with (or at least some of the drugs they used)

Maybe the blues can leak the tapes to the media, or put them online??

I will go one step further and suggest that this is the reason Waite was CITED for acting, and the Hawthorn bloke wasnt when the incidents were identical.

The AFL is starting to tear at the seams - even crowds are down, Supporters aren't happy with costs, the draw, telecasts, rules, etc...

Surely its not our fault that EFC* and Hird are drug cheats??

Like Vlad, WE didn't inject anyone

I think Gazza hates us because we gave "The Duke" a premiership instead of him. Did he get an offer from us & make the wrong decision?
Will he write about his decision making prowess as part of the MFC coaching selection panel?

What the article highlights is the clubs' ineptness to build a list around Judd and deliver a flag, thus apportioning sole responsibility on the football department and board!!!

Judd, in the article, is just the headline so people would read what gazza has written. The rest is part of the reason why we are all frustrated - ie failed in recruitment, list mgmt, running of the footy dept, board, etc

Imagine if gaz had written the article the other way and said solely, the club has failed to deliver a premiership and the decisions made by the CEO, board, footy dept have failed in their responsibility.

Two things with this - not many people would read the article in the first place. "Who cares" would be readers mentality.
Second, gaz would never be allowed into visa park again and his mate sticks would have a crack!!! He still would perhaps!!

Ouch! what a nasty article.

That was not pleasant reading. I must admit when we recruited Judd I honestly thought we're on our way to bigger and better things. I also thought with Judd at the club we'll secure (poach) some awesome talent from other clubs because there's always players willing to risk everything for a premiership medallion.
As the years went by that feeling of things are on the up have slowly diminished. Now I'm at the point of wondering if we'll even make the eight, and a premiership with Judd is never going to happen. Saps the life right out of you as a supporter.

What I REALLY fear is an article by Lyon or some other journo in the not too distant future writing a piece about Mark Murphy and how moving to Carlton ...

And history repeats ...

But why let facts get in the way of vomiting an "article" out?

Just another example of a mediocre player latching onto the gravy train and making a living out of burbling all manner of shite. And another example of those in the media making up garbage and presenting it as fact, insulting our collective intelligence, and not actually doing anything of any actual journalistic note.

It's all a piece of #$%^ anyway. I mean, it's life and any decision Judd made was always going to be a gamble. Lyon is putting words in Judd's mouth but CJ is his own man and he would've known that whatever decisions he made was always going to either pay or not pay off. I mean, it's academic anyway. GL can foof off as much as he wants; that's what he's paid to do and let's face it he HATES Carlton and any opportunity to bag them, he's blowing off at the cheeks to do it. Let the baby have his bottle, I reckon.

I know we're garbage at the moment but so is the game and the media that goes along with it, so sit tight hold your nerve and know that we're not the only ones who haven't met expectations. It's not just reserved for us Carlton folk.

I also think giving away Kennedy and those picks were too much. I think that was the main problem.

The main problem was that we thought that getting Judd was the start and the finish of it. You could see it coming a mile off.

...the fact that we are talking about ONE decision and ONE player, says it all really

(reminds me of the recruitment of Brock McLean on the grounds that Judd needed some assistance....Yes ladies and gentlemen Brock the servant, the slave for a supreme super human. when we start talking about @#$%&! team, team, team, team, team, team, team, team, maybe we will get somewhere,......)

Garry Lyon is ducking the issue yet again. What is he doing for the Melbourne Football Club? What has he done over the last few years?

....Gary should do a historical article on what the demons have achieved as a sporting organisation since Barrassi left, and compare it to what the Blues have acheived....

(I count 8 flags, from 12 GF appearances for the Blues, I wont bother with the demons record - who gives a @#$%&! anyway what the Demons are complaining about now)

We deserve every bashing we get (outdated governence, board factions, recruiting, debt, coaching messiah syndrome, star player messiah syndrome, bogan prez. #1 draft pick messiah syndrome etc)

Unfortunately, there are too many Carlton people who, like the parent of a miscreant child who refuse to acknowledge the infractions at school because their child "just isn't like that" or "it must have been someone else's fault"...just can't see that we have become an irrelevant, cloutless, mediocre organisation, open to ridicule and criticism.

We are in a twighlight zone wasteland...no longer really considered a powerful Vic club, but still not a wretched tragedy like Melb, WB, StK and maybe NM

Let's see what their work rate and 1%ers are like tonight against the drugs lords from tullamarine.

Let's see if they get the basics right

Are we sure that renowned fence sitter Garry Lyon wrote the article himself? If so I congratulate him on forming his first ever opinion.

The only way you shut up the media is by winning games of football. If the players are sick of it, do something about it.
