Surprisingly, we're actually a reasonably strong favourite on the betting market. Bit of value in Port for the punters of TC.

I'd be a lot more confident in a win if there wasn't so many question marks on the fitness of half a dozen of our first choice players.

Isn't there a question mark on a few of their guys as well ?
Jay Shultz didn't look too good after the game the other night against the Scum.

Schulz, Carlile and Trengove all under injury clouds, the latter 2 haven't played at all yet.

Then the battle of the KPP's in this game swings (very very marginally  ) in our favour.

I don't think it's a surprise at all. We will do them by at least 5 goals. Everyone has pumped them up when in reality they're a very average team. Had a charmed draw last year then beat Collingwood who won't make the finals this year.

Could not be less interested in this game if I tried.

Oh ok. Round 1 mustn't be worth 4 points.

What's left to say...

I care about the cricket and soccer so much more at this point in time. On the 16th I'll go watch the Heart play the phoenix. I want to care, I know it's worth 4 points, but I just don't.

I'll wake up in time for the Richmond game.

I'm the same every year, a switch is flicked and I start caring, but normally that coincides with Rd 1.this year it's Rd 2.

Clear enough?

I reckon Cripps should be the sub ... I would play him ahead of Cachia or Ellard.

But really ... what we need is more players that can haphazardly bomb the ball forward.

Dr Strangelove (alias Darth Vader ... alias Tricky Micky Super Duper Coach) must be getting excited.

For those who have not seen the movie ... please refer to ... 'How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb'.

Ellard will play on recent form, he deserves a spot.
Like the idea of Cripps being the sub though.

Id love to see Cripps as well but His endurance is suspect, isnt it? injury early and we might be in trouble.

Not sure why one thinks that to be an important statement on a football board................. :?

Anyway, Gibbs being available is looking a little more promising now.

Agree. Both nab games he has been impressive but they were both around 50% game time and he looked cooked after both. Don't think we could risk bringing him in as sub in case we got an early injury.

Ellard would make a good sub though.

Oh FFS. For the first time in my life I'm genuinely disinterested in the start of the season. It's just the way it is. Stick me in your foe list and be done with it.

I'll be up and about by the time we play Richmond. Hope that the sets your mind at rest Harker.

What's a foe list?

No foes bluehammer although no friends either. Guess you'd still like for your club to win this one though. I would too.

Give us a game like the last H&A round last year and there may be cause for a bit of enthusiasm. Let's hope.

This pre season does seem very flat. That may be a good thing come round 1, but given the split rounds etc to start, I doubt it. I reckon BH won't be the only one taking a few weeks to get into it.
