Would be the best thing to happen for this footy club.... Not a fan of his work.

Dont get me wrong, Swann has put a lot of hard work in and as a Carlton supporter you need to appreciate any work put in for our club... but I believe that he landed with his arse in the butter at the pies. The team were on the rise and had Eddie with his network of connections that made him look a lot better as an operator than he has shown to be at our club. While other clubs push ahead with membership numbers we are now middle of the pack. If you look at our reporting, if it werent for Pokie revenue would we have made the profits we did on a smaller revenue base than the other "big" Melbourne clubs.....

As for the Judd deal... lets be honest.. it came down to two factors $$ and being prepared to get the deal done. Carlton NEEDED Judd at all costs and would have sold the farm for him and therefore both of those criteria we were happy to abide by (with Dick Pratt assisting).

I view Swann's role as something that was going along pretty well initially and then got a bit stale. I'm sure there were plenty of areas of professionalism he brought in from Collingwood and now it seems from the outside that the stream of new ideas has run dry. That's just my feeling anyway.

There's a few big ticket items (playing at the G, debt reduction, member increases) that we seem to be stagnating on. We might need a non footy person to slot in and focus on getting the business side of the club in shape.

Malouf?

Rumour from MMM ? Doesn't Eddie McGuire work there ?
Anyway Swann would need to certified if he even considered StK.
I was under the impression that part of the lure used to bring Swann to Carlton, was that after his tenure at the footy club, he was to enter the coporate world with Visy.
A better gig than StK , surely.

You'd have to add an 'l' and take away the word 'million'.

As if that wouldn't stop Jeff Gartlett, CEO.

Swan is staying, confirmed he had been approached by the Saints but not interested.
End of story.

Disappointing. Nothing against the bloke (former Williamstown player and President after all) - but doesn't have the required skill-set that the current job requires. A good CEO when he has the backing of a Pratt or a McGuire. If he had the backing of a Mathieson, he might do ok - but he doesn't...having a new President and CEO for 2015 would be something I would look forward to. Club needs to keep growing and evolving and I don't think Swann is the CEO to take the club forward into a post-Kernahan, post-Judd era.

Doesn't matter who is 'President' or 'CEO' - we know who sets the tone and calls the shots
