Have you seen them on gameday. Not just on telly, but at the ground? They do SFA, they never run and create space, they just stand there. All @#$%&! game!

FYI - Had a meeting at the club this morning and raised this (among many other things). It's going to be looked into. So if you're at the club and you see Mick Malthouse sending Brad Green shimmying up a goal post with a measuring tape - you'll know why. So the question being put forward is "Are they currently to AFL game specifications?" ...I believe the answer to be "no" but will let you know what the response it.

As far as I'm concerned if the AFL (under 18's) and VFL are playing games there, then the AFL should fork out the $ for them to be replaced and it would be good for the club to donate the goalposts to a struggling club/school who need a decent set of goalposts.

Nice work Doc, thanks for the update. Is there anything else about the meeting you can tell us? Was it with the football department or other?

Other. It's all good. Some good stuff on the drawing board. Mainly comms/fan engagement stuff. After years of Coutts sending us backwards, there's a very competent, hard working team down there. Hopefully most of it comes to fruition. Some of it might seem small, but it's like smothers and shephards - sometimes it's the little things that count.

Like (finally) updating the board bios. There's still a bit to do, but it's an improvement from last week.

http://www.carltonfc.com.au/club/board

Would be nice if they listed responsibilities, as Doc has previously suggested, but hey, it's a start!

The board stuff will be completed soon. And there'll be some additional material as well. The aim is to achieve far more transparency than what is currently there so the member knows what they do on the board. Down the track perhaps there'll even be a few quick video Q&A's with board members which might also be newsworthy. It gets back to my point about the member being treated as an investor.

It might also give the likes of Stephen Kernahan who, if he goes one more year - it'll be his last - so he'll have the opportunity to tell members what his legacy has been, what the 150th means for him, what he'll do post-board member and what beer is currently in his fridge.

I'm a supporter just like you. But there's only so much complaining one can do behind a keyboard or at a pub or in the outer. If you've got a good idea the club want to hear about it. Fan engagement works both ways. A lot of what the club CAN do isn't necessarily reinventing the wheel - it might have already been done at the Boston Bruins or the Seattle Mariners, but they're ideas that can be altered and branded for Carlton.

There's massive potential at our club. It's about harnessing that potential and finding a way to do things rather than to put them in the too hard basket which was done and accepted far too often.

I've never found the right thread for it. But I was quite impressed with the #believe campaign in the finals. Enabling the fans to engage in some co-branding was exactly the sort of idea we should be encouraging. I hope they have more of that sort of stuff up their sleeves Doc.

Yep. The possibilities are endless with the 150th. I liked the #BELIEVE campaign too. Particularly the celebrities that got involved.

I've actually been looking for somewhere to talk about the #believe campaign too...

After Murphy kicked the first goal of the last quarter against Port I posted this

Agreed I thought it was the best thing the club has done in a long time.

Would it be worthwhile for me to have the club mention to the players that they sing the song incorrectly? ie. they sing ... keep our ends up instead of keep our end up

By all means. But it wasn't all that long ago that it was 'hold our end up'...rather than 'keep our end up'...
