Malthouse suggested something similar in his post match Press conference.

I don't think we will use it every week, but it was a good tactic against Richmond. When we play the Dockers we need to do the reverse. They are good early then try to close the game down.

Sydney just go at it for 4 quarters, we just need to make sure we make their main play makers run a LOT in the first half.

Watching the 2010 Elimination final against the Swans now.
The gameplan is almost identical to how we're playing now. A few subtle changes. 3,4,5 zone on the kick out etc.

Anyone who suggests our midfielders didnt work defensively is playing with themselves. (Much like Ratts was caught doing on the bench) :lol:
The defensive run and pressure of our mids was excellent. The surprise for me was Warnock up forward. Strong marks. Straight kicks. Where has that gone?

The biggest change though is our defence. We no longer require Joseph, Bower, Davies and Russell to fill defensive roles. That and the ruckwork of Jacobs. He was a beautiful palmer of the ball.

What do you mean? I mentioned a zone and apparently I was "waffling on" trying give the impression I have some sort of idea.
