I was sick of him well before he became Timmy's lapdog

For me it all started when he was host of Fox Sports FC

I do wonder what Maher's stance will be IF the AFL strip Essendon*'s points and elevate the 9th placed team up one spot and that team happens to be Carlton.

On this years form, I would expect Maher to deliver a tirade of abuse and vitriol directed at the AFL. It's merely a hosts role that has been downgraded this year anyway, but if it's to improve and get better and the club actually cares about engagement, Andy Maher should be replaced. It looks as though he'd much rather be hosting a golf show anyway.

But I'll go a step further. He also hosts, if I'm not mistaken, the annual Women of Carlton dinner. There are Mums and wives of Carlton footballers in that audience. Which Andrew Maher are they going to get? He can't one morning wake up and openly support the Essendon* Football Club and their abhorrent Josef Mengele-like guinea pig pharmacological experiment on footballers and then front up to a paid gig that evening and smile in front of mothers and wives of footballers having said that.

He has to make a choice. As far as I'm concerned, this morning's rant was his choice. After reading the charges - he's siding with the Watson/Hird camp. Made his bed. Gotta lie in it now.

I like plenty of Carlton people too Michael. Liked Andrew Maher once. But supporters have long memories. I'm gonna follow through with this one.

I like him.
I also respect the fact he gives up his time to host Carlton functions etc.
If he has a view thats contrary to the majority here, it's not a big deal IMO. Perhaps he's armed with more information than we are?
To give him the flick from the Blue Print because of that is ridiculous IMHO.

Great comeback Doc. :?
If you have any additional information or know more than the rest of us, enlighten us.

Does he not give up his time to host Carlton functions?
As amazing as it sounds, is it not possible he knows more than you or the rest of us?

a) He gets paid.

b) if you've ever heard his tirades on SEN, you'd know that he knows very little...only what Tim Watson feeds him. And Tim Watson is being fed by the Essendon****** propaganda machine.

Sam Lane could do it, would be a step up from reporting in booing in the crowd.

Get rid of him, then he can devote more time to promoting Timmae's fairy tales

..lookit, this is how it goes.. ..the only ppl siding with Maher's SEN opinion [cos i doubt he truely believes it, or puts it forth in other media aside from SEN] is essendope ppl, and Sam Newman..

..whether he knows more than us or not, there's 1 thing in this whole saga that isn't disputed by either essendope or afl, and that's the mystery mexo drug, or the fact that it can't be said for sure what and how much was injected into which players.. ..that is enough for everyone bar essendope cronies to be disgusted with the club, to agree that most definitely the game has been brought into disrepute, and that player welfare was sidelined both during the injecting program, and now with the effort being put into defending key bombre reputations, and effort being taken away from the players.. ..in answering questions, in allaying fears and concerns, in even giving them the time and instruction for their weekly matches..

I love the passion in this thread but I will respectfully disagree with most.

I haven't enjoyed his views on the Essendon* saga and it pisses me off, but I think it should have nothing to do with him hosting The Blueprint. His views have not made one iota of difference as to whether Essendon* would be charged or not.

The key issue for me is whether he is doing a good job hosting the show (I don't watch it) and corporate functions. If he is not, then replace him.

I like him on Before the Game and don't mind him on SEN (apart from Essendon* saga), so I think he does have some good qualities.

I have a feeling that, Monday morning he'll get down on both knees and wholeheartedly, on behalf of all Carlton fans, apologise to Timmae for the booing his son received... he's that much of a flog

I have 9429-1116 on speed dial

Piss weak response Doc. I thought you were better than that.
Just because I dont jump on your anti Andrew Maher rant I'm an Essendon* apologist?
I cant stand Essendon* but I also know I've only heard one side of the story. The day I believe everything Demetriou says without hearing the opposing view is the day I'll classify myself as an ignorant fool.

I hope it's all true and I hope Hird and his cronies are banned for life but only if the evidence stacks up instead of a bunch of unsubstantiated charges based off an interim report.
