Good workmanlike win against weakened opposition.

Losing Thompson, Prestia & then Nicholls really hurt them.

Curnow did a good job on Ablett.
Kruezer good
Henderson up forward again worked. Will hopefully stay there.
Walker good
Cachia did well when he came on.

Thought today showed we are 5-6 players short of being a Top 4 side. If we can add them during the summer we are close.

We need a THIRD tall up forward. Waite may well be the answer.

IMO guys like Robinson, Scotland, Watson, McLean won't take us forward.

Amazing running effort from Curnow, did a bit himself too.
Kreuzer, Henderson, also very very good.
Looking forward to Waite and Hendo in the forward line.
Say what you like but Robbo is almost the guy who could lay that hit on Gazza.
Judd zero tackles....hmmm.

McLean was one of our better players today

Actually, he has been good this year

Some amazing comments here, we did win right?

Anyway, just wondering who the armbands were for

Should have, Could have! Nonsense!

Reality here. You are expecting something that is not going to happen.....you may as well say "should have won the premiership".

We don't win 3 in a row, EVER....We lost there last year.....we rarely put teams below us away...we always struggle when we're hunted....and we're pretty soft all over really and all the teams know it.

This is a good result, make no mistake. 3 in a row! Now lets build on it.

I'll take a win interstate everyday of the week.It keeps us in the main game.Forget the analysis, concentrate on a very difficult opponent next week.Lyon and his wharfies are trouble.

Didn't mind the misses today, gave us a chance to look at and work on defending the kick ins.

Good win.Controlled the game from go to whoa.

Kicked more points than they had scoring shots. Should have won by at least 10 goals.

Positives.

Great games by Curnow,

Kruezer master class of tap work.

Hendo continues to impress.

Simo fabulous (again)

Touhy solid and getting better. Can stand up in a contest.

Small forwards dangerous and did their job.

Scotland very good.

Negatives

Kicking for goal.

Tackling

Commentator 'tools' consistently talking the GC up.

Atrocious holding the ball against Eddie on the wing.

Sam Rowe love where you've come from but not AFL standard-too slow and out of the contest when it hits the deck.

Murph 27 posssessions but not a great impact. Captaincy clearly has affected his game.

Watson's chase on Charlie Dixon-in fairness the kid can play. Any chance of snagging him?

Gibbs is wasted in the back pocket, where he was dragged to. That last goal of Browns was embarrassing for him and he was blushing like crazy afterwards. He needs to be further up the ground.

It's good to get the points but that win was nothing to write home about.

I got the impression that Gibbs was sent back to quell Brown's influence in the second half which I think was a big tick.

My limited take from just getting back:

Good:
- Great game from Kreuz
- Amigos did the job
- Very good game from Curnow on Ablett
- A good team effort
- Three games, three monkeys off our back
- Metricon is a great place to watch footy, highly recommended

Bad:
- Umpiring in first half was terrible
- We kept falling for the loose man in defence, have we not learned from this yet?
- Kicking for goal an obvious issue, but moreso kicking to the wrong places. Either near boundary or on the goal line (too easy for opposition to punch through). Barker has to go!
- Contested marking, did we actually take one?
- There seemed limited influence from Murphy and Gibbs. They were probably serviceable in and under but did nothing inspiring.
- The players not acknowledging the Carlton faithful who flew up, many with young kids. Pretty poor TBH.

Good win. Some of the comments in here are ridiculous. Do people expect us to win by 80 pts every week or something? This was against a team that had beaten Collingwood last week and ran Richmond to 9 points the week before. Sure, plenty to improve upon, especially goal kicking, but a pleasing enough win.

Agree. Not sure we learnt any more or less about the group. Our best again, were the same as they've been recently - Kreuzer, Henderson, Walker, Simpson etc. Still need another key forward. Rowe disappointing, as well as mids who can use it. Nothing new here.

Hard to judge the work of Jamison and Watson today. GC missing some talls, and Dixon has missed so much footy. Both forward lines seemed outnumbered all day. I assume it was instigated by GC, after getting cut up by our smalls early.

Curnow did well around the ground as well as nullifying Ablett's effectiveness.

Armfield, Scotland, Gibbs, Mclean, Tuohy all got better as the game went on.

Smalls did their job. Thought Yarran's pressure was excellent especially early. Hard to get a gauge of his work rate when not at the ground..

Good test next week....
