Terrible luck
Highlights the stupidity of Bartlett and his rules committee and their directions in this instance. Apparently a player is entitled to duck and weave to elude the tackler and deserves full protection for doing so.
In other words, if you duck your head we'll give you a free kick. Stupidity.
Once the umpires srop rewarding the player ducking his head, the players will stop doing it.

Best of luck to White. Been a handy foot soldier in his time with us and I hope that he recovers 100% for life's sake if not his footy sake. That might take some serious getting over.

I thought he might have been touch and go for next year (particularly with the forecast list burn) but Mick more or less guaranteed him. That at least should be good for his peace of mind.

Actually in this instance a free kick was paid against White for holding the ball, you actually are not allowed to duck your head and lead with it to cause the head high contact in this sort of play.

Re ducking the head, Jordan Lewis did it last night (as he always does) and squealed for the free. Thankfully the umpire didn't pay it.

Hopefully it's because of what's happened to Simon but ducking the head should be discouraged and disincentivised.

Saw footage on AFL360 the other night.
On the bench, Simon was moving his neck all around like he was trying to stretch it out. What looked like a doctor was standing by his shoulder.
Very dangerous stuff. With a broken vertebra, moving the neck around like that can lead to permanent nerve injury.
WTF was that "doctor" doing??????

Same guy that sent Laidler and Austin onto the field while still injured?
