Said the same thing last year and wanted a top to bottom review at the club from memory.

It's disappointing he's only gone for one part of the club, unless it was selective quoting from the journo.

I think he needs to speak up more but on other under performing areas.....such as the board and CEO.

Pretty much the only area that has worked well this year is the marketing/membership area....kudos to them because they've been up against it....they'll have to pull some more rabbits out of the hat next year

Ceo only saved due to mAlthouse coming on board

Why doesn't Bruce have anything to say about coaching appointments; Pagan, Ratten, Malthouse - the cost to the club, the haphazard manner in which they are appointed/the lack of process, how the club is controlled by factions?

He'll treat his pet anyway he damn well pleases.

Anybody else sick of these f%$#@.

I suppose its to much to expect that pokies and good corporate governance go hand and hand.

Much like the corrupt corrugated cardboard people .

When individuals put large amounts of money into clubs they sooner or later want there say in how to run the club. Happens in local footy all the time.

How often does he say something positive about the club? How many games does he go to?

It's incredibly simplistic to blame our position purely on recruiting, when our development is at least equally to blame (and more likely, much more to blame).
Was he blaming the recruiters last year when he wanted Ratts out?

I'm guessing he (like many of us) saw Ratts as a key player in both recruiting and development.

Yeah, but he hasn't commented on development at all, he said the sole problem was recruiting.

I actually think it should be. It's at the stage that we get it out in the open and he is someone who will be listened to. Good for everyone.

If you added sponsors as well you would be 100% correct, applies to every club.

Time for Bruce to put up or shut up, personally I hope he puts up.

Bit harsh AGRO. I think Bruce does more than most for the club.

He said similar things to what was written in the paper.
He does live in Qld and doesnt go to any matches so may not be fully qualified to comment on players but he only said what most of us on this forum have been saying for a couple of years now.
When asked if the club made the right call on Ratten he said absolutely.

So powder balls gets a free pass from the people who matter.

Do you pay a rebuild coach the same as a flag coach?

I respect his opinion and value it - what I meant is its about time he actually put his hand up get on the Board and "clean house" as it were.

Bruce said the same thing a year ago.

At the time the Ratts issue was starting to flare up, so he waded into that too.
But he has been pushing for better recruiting for a while now.

I think that Sticks is Demetriou-esque in his lack of action, so in a way we almost need these public outbursts to bring about change.

Definitely not ideal, and a sure sign of the dysfunction present.
But better than silently copping the same old garbage

Never happen. Doesn't want to and he can still have as much influence from the outside as being on a board. Atleast on the outside he can voice an opinion.

Our 150th is shaping as a laugh for the rest of the comp. Just like our last year at PP.

We'll be lucky to make 160 without merging, relocating or being sold.

How we did not reshape the list last pre season i will never know. A new mix and a new balance to the team could have been half achieved already. Instead we wait another year.
Too many laying it all at the feet of the old coach and taking their eye off the ball to solving the real problem.

Mick barely showed his mug at trade week.

Wasted year.

We wasted 5, what is another 12 months in the scheme of things as long as we get it right.
