I thought Yarran made a real effort.

Jeffy's running in the Bombers game was INSANE and to that point he was on track for AA.

Eddie will learn the what the benchmark is.

The only issue I believe is that they simply can't expect to be all in the forward line at the same time. They need to be able to take on midfield and (in Yarrans case) defenders roles as required.

They would work more into the game if Casboult and Waite did also...
the forward line was a dogs breakfast.

How the hell is Barker and Capuano still at the club.. i know the club has no money ..... but hey!!!

Nah.

Just didn't adjust to the conditions quickly enough.

Sydney did, probably due to having played in the same conditions last week.

Excuses excuses excuses excuses excuses

Conditions same for both parties

Ball handling PATHETIC
Spread to provide space PATHETIC
Refusal to soccer off the ground until the second half PATHETIC AND MORONIC
Tackling that stopped opponents PATHETIC AND INSIPID
Tackling that hurt the opposition NON EXISTENT
Kick outs F@#$% MORONIC
Protecting their kick outs NON EXISTENT
Playing from behind on a wet night OH YEAH, THAT WAS CERTAINLY EXISTENT,
Ruckwork TERRIBLE
Not playing Laidler but playing Bootsma and White ahead of him PIG HEADED

I know it's the rage right now, but we are seriously shite.

Did you stand in the rain last night.

I didn't, but last time I checked, the AFL allowed 22 listed SS players to be out there...AND they allowed 22 listed CFC players to stand out there.

Now, if my maths is right, 22-22=0

This means that there was no advantage for both sides numerically

And just to keep this simple, we won't introduce any confounding variables such as a first gamer they had, and the fact that a third of their premiership side were out

Oh...and apparently, Sydney is not the only city in the world where it rains. It has been known to rain in Melbourne as well

(emoticon superfluous - adds an undeserved feeling of superiority to the argument)

Who is abusing their rights as a moderator? The last time I checked, obnoxious smileys weren't against the rules. :?

It's not just about last night... take the time to read mine (and others) posts instead of being self indulgent all the time. Try it... you might even enjoy it.

This, the issue is we expect them to be the cake and the cream when they should just be the cream.

I wouldn't say that they are flat track bullies. I am not making excuses for them but the conditions last night were not condusive to the way Betts, Yazz and Jeffy play. They ust don't have the big bodies for those conditions.

Discuss.

Three exciting dry weather players whose game is more suited to the dry expanses of the MCG than a Sydney slopfest.
We would have been better served by dropping one or two of them for this game and playing Bell and Duigan, whose bodies and style are more suited to close in hard stuff.

I am a believer in the horses for courses approach to footy, which many if not most coaches don't subscribe to. If the track is going to be wet, you play your Bells, Duigans, Robbos, Walkers, Scotlands and Armfields and drop the one touch run and carry players.

If it's dry you pick them again.

Part of the problem is that it hasn't rained that much this season and when it has, we've been under the roof. Another reason why we need to get to the MCG ASAP!

i think betts is a flat track bully....does he ever play good against top teams and im not rating it on friday night ...those conditions were pretty bad
yarran still not here or there ...plays ok in games but never really plays good games on a consistent basis
gartlett is a good player, until 2-3 games ago he was all australian so being a bit harsh on him, every player has lulls in a long season.

Yes Bill Shorten.... you should change your avatar. Their you go assuming again.

Well we both think the same of each other.

Waite... 7 v Ess... Armfield very good v. pies... they have at least had ONE good game against top sides. Walker also. Bootsma I'll cut him slack until next year as only second season.

ridiculous!!!.... barrass... you should work on your threads and put some thought into them... seriously!!!

thats seriously one messed up thread.... its wrong in so many ways..!!!

waite kicked 7 against Essendon*.. so hes not a flat track bully.... but eddie who has missed almost the entire season .. and yarran who played a quarter are flat track bullies???

Look.. just stop..... we have a flat track bully team... thats why we dont win big games... stop confining your negative attacks to the indigenous boys... when it comes to flat track bullies.. cos it would mean... you believe the others are big match players!!!

Do you???

if you dont... why single them out??? :yikes:

..i agree, we don't have enough players that will give their all, week in and week out, irregardless of conditions or scoreboard.. ..we want players that are willing to do it every game, finals footy effort for every minute they're out on the ground.. ..not enough players on that list..

Yeah we lack big match competitors ... and leaders....

Poor decision to not play Betts and Yarran in the Northern Blues during last weeks bye. Betts has missed far too much football this year and Yarran has hardly played in a month.

In that case we must be one hell of a team, as we beat them on the scoreboard after the first quarter and I didn't see the Swans stop trying.

Can't wait to see how good we'll be when some of those "pathetics" and "non-existants" start to change
