You don't get that at docklands. It's a soulless, empty room. You don't feel like you're supporting a club but a franchise.

You want your kid to be a Carlton supporter for life? Let them have a kick on PP after a win.

Are you serious ?

Are you?

You don't think having a high quality (all be it small) stadium is a point of pride and therefore a selling point for memberships.?

Where do Collingwood play there home games again?

Who gives a flying knob job what the Pies do?

People keep saying we are boring, we don't do anything, nothing bold, we're sh1t.

So there might be a possibility of having PP as a high quality venue to watch some games at, but the somehow this is a bad thing.

Seriously, you guy's need to stop looking at everything though sh1t stained sunglasses.

We call for innovation, expansion and an advantage over rivals but only if we follow others lead.
Why are interstate teams so powerful at their home grounds?
Having our own home ground is the first point of entry into building a strong base for community, independence, belonging, strength and stability.
Everyone apparently laughed a Cook also, but we are only Carlton.

What parts of my comment do you dispute Synbad?

And Argo, we're not talking about playing every home game there. Say 4 games a year against the expansion sides and the lowly Melbourne clubs. If (and I mean IF, I've already acknowledged how impractical it would be) you could fill Princess Park to the rafters surely that's better than a 1/3 capacity at Docklands.

What will happen to that huge development where the old social cllub / heatley stand used to be?
Car parking?
Residents?
MCC?
Gardiner stand and the heritage on it.?

Theyre just a few things you can get back to me with .... think about those very carefully cos im going to ask you to address them and a few other things that im keeping up my sleeve... and lets have a discussion.. i love discussions...!!!

And have some answers please??.... dont just say "I dunno".....
Remember SmorgyVille???

Most importantly ... why is it needed?

What do you mean what "part" i dispute???... i dispute everyyyyyything... im not leaving out any part of what you think in laughing ....

Geelong is another city.. same as Perth Adelaide Brissy GC Sydney etc.....

What do you mean Cook???....

Look im not sure how much of the ins and outs of this some of you people understand... but this is another massive deflection by Swan.

Makes sense for us to push for Visy if the AFL are serious about a boutique stadium and not just using it as a negotiating ploy with Etihad. Seriously doubt we'd play many games there but it could make us a few bucks and help us in future negotiations with the other grounds.

I'll give you an answer you halfwit.
I already conceded it's unrealistic and it won't happen. I conceded it twice, acknowledging everyone of the points you made.
All I was saying was that IF it were possible it would come with immeasurable benefits.

I also never said '4 expansion clubs' and I never said kids 'need' it. You're lying to suit your argument. But given how frequently you do that around here it shouldn't surprise me :hitcomputer:

So why does the AFL need it???

Ask yourself that.

Second... that means it will be a pooled stadium so not our home ground.

Now your just making sh1t up Synners.

Was it our stadium when Fitzroy, Hawks and whoever else were co-tennants?

It's Princes Park on Royal Parade, it's our godammotherf*****ghistoricalhome and nobody can change that.

BINGO!!

Just look at Geelong tonight with their developed home ground.

They are taking the first step to lock in generations of supporters.

Apparently, it was quoted on the radio today that Geelong might pocket $800K for each home game.

The development of Princes Park is the biggest issue for our current Board to deal with.

The success or failure of Carlton is now in their hands.

no now youre making shit up.

it was then because we played all of our games there....

we wont be now... so if we play 2 or 3 games there.. and so do a few other clubs how is it our home ground.

ARE YOU TRYING TO SAY CIMM.... ITS OUR FORTRESS AGAINST GWS????
THAT WE NOW WILL HAVE A HOME GROUND ADVANTAGE AGAINST THE SUNS???
AND THAT WHEN WE ARENT PLAYING A TEAM THERE- WERE NOT ON OUR HOME GROUND???

ARE YOU????

WELL ?????

boody trippers!!!! :screwy:

guys can you think things through.....

number 1 ... cimm.. have you ever been to PP since the redevelopment?????

if you have.... youd realise short of a complete demolishing of the whole @#$%&! facility..... it wont be fit for AFL games ever again.
One side is a training office development.. all the way up theboundary... the rest of it is falling over.....

100 mill for that??.. and take games away from the Dome??...

dreaming....!!!

Oh you mean in 30 years when the Dome is going to be worth trllions ... theyre going to build on crown land.. when they havent been a ble to scratch their asses without the reside nts going berserk??

do you remember the legends stand??... we built as far back as we were allowed.. and even used air space.... (not the land around the park cos we wernt allowed.. but a very ugly overhanging bit of the stadium....... and as high as we were allowed..

Youll probaby find that t he next ground will be ushered out to the outter Eastern or Sth Eastern suburbs somewhere....where real estate can be acquired more easily and more of it without being hammered inner city.

Money is short.. theyre not going to
a) waste money on a stadium they dont need
b) give it to us after THEY not US have invested hudreds of millions assuming they decide to do that
c) believe me its been looked at before and wont ever be happening... Malouf was brought in from the MCC for that particular reason.
Ive actually had achat to him re that... he said would be impossible to get the council to spare Carlton more land.... not happening.. never will.. and the way the residents are now without games being played for coming onto a decade... dead and buried.

Now who have you spoken to in regards to what the MCC and the residents feel about a full blown stadium in that area???

Im interested...

have you spoken to ANYONE at all???...

and like i said in the 0.0000000000000000000000000000000000001% chance it happened it wouldnt be ours.... it would be the AFLs.. we might be anchor tenant for training ... but it would be as much ours as the Dome is Essendons.

ok???

enlighten me if you know more.. or know something else....

I have no idea on most of what the AFL decide these days. They just confuse me.
