T-Bird was very good for us when our list was the worst in the league - thanks for the memories

I've said before that Bret's ability to fill gaps if (ie. WHEN) they open up is something many players on our list lack. It really astounded me the stubborn refusal to play him when we continued to lose or talls, and I feel he still has a lot to offer. This is given that two years ago I wanted him out the door.

So good luck to Bret no matter what happens from here on.

No one can begrudge his decision to try his luck elsewhere...

What happens if here free agents don't get a gig?

Do we re-sign or get rid of them or what?

Does it necessarily mean by testing the free agency that the club no longer wants them?

Technically, they have dropped off our list and if they don't go to another club, they end up in the draft (I think, possibly, maybe)

It will be interesting to see how the free agency plays out though. I like the idea. Wonder if it will get manipulated along the way?

I think Bret has been pretty unlucky the last few years as he deserved more games than he got. I'm glad he got to finally play in a winning final last year.

Good luck Bret.

Seriously..:( ...forced to play at FB because he was the only player capable....I've always had a soft spot and it angered me that the coach obviously didn't like him. He should have been played more often than he was this year...,

Hope he gets a couple more years on another list.

We've discarded Setanta and TBird, both CHFs in the last 2 years and both did a good job at it. Funny how CHF was our achilles Heel this year without a ruckman making KPF their position.

Well put it this way, it was good to have them at times of need.

I hope Mitchell, Casboult and MCCarthey can stamp their name as a KPF in 2013 to take focus off Waitewhi is so dangerous as the 3rd tall; that's when he's playing.

Onya TBird.
Really appreciate what you did for our club.

Did so much better than most from when he was drafted. Best of luck for him, still has plenty of football left in him so I hope he gets picked up elsewhere.

was regularly embarrassed by his dummy spits when he got beaten. regularly embarrassed by thornton at a time when i was regularly embarrassed by the club. you can have your pride, even when you're getting smashed. yes, even when you're getting smashed week after week after week and you're in the back line watching the ball sail over your head.

got better in his later years, but still played that bullshit little chippy chippy game.

if anyone picks him up, he won't hurt us, just like he's never hurt anyone else.

good luck, brett, but seriously, carlton will not remember you.

I can understand why you'd be regularly embarrassed.

I'll always remember him helping us beat Freo last season with a busted face.

Crucified by Ratten.

In and out of the team every other week, when he's one of the few who gives his all and can fill a variety of roles.

Hard done by, so not surprised...
