Jacobs doesn't deserve the nod IMO. If you look at his stats for the season, he falls away from the game outside of ruck contests against good opposition, and I'm guessing he has far less effective taps as well.

Same as he always was. Will have a poor finals series, and the AA committee won't pick him next year even if he has another good season.

Goals, plus goal assists = AA to Eddie Betts

Plus Milne got the nob, I mean nod last year.

Well, it looks like they can get stuffed then! Rioli?

Naitanui named as first ruck?

Gets worse every year with clowns like KB, Spud and Healy on the selection panel. Needs a freshen up quick smart.

Well, my first post on here was going to be something D & M about Carlton, a maiden speech to the TC Parliament if you will, but seriously...

What the hell has Eddie done to get treated so disgracefully year after year? If he's not having his hand deliberately trodden on while getting holding the ball paid against him then watching the perp get off with a fine, or (more than once) getting pushed in the back by a dirty Scum spider monkey twice his size with either no penalty or a rubbish shepherding decision paid, or continually getting his head ripped off with no reward, or never getting quite the kudos from our media geniuses for his regular mark/goal of the year candidates, or getting near B & F this year (he would be worthy, but he won't make the top five, assuming our club has caught the disease as well...okay, I'm frothing with conspiracy now), his gut-busting and often inspirational efforts are totally ignored - not worth a mention in Connolly's Age piece - in favour of the aforementioned front-running tip-rat and the occasionally amazing Cyril. The fact he plays several positions should be more reason, not less, to claim a FP. Give the man some credit, for a change. What a crock...

Anyway...nice place you've got here...

Disgraceful decision by the AA selectors. I'm not that concerned really over Cyril getting a gig but two years running now they have selected Milne when Betts has clearly been the more rounded player.
Milne is a (nobheadded)goalsneak and nothing more. A good one, yes but that's all. Would like to have seen Milne try to kick that congested 'goal of the year' last year.

They should have a set shot kick off between the two to decide this once and for all. All drop punts, no snaps, bananas or trickles. Good luck to you then Milney. Crab.

Love ya Eddie, chin up son. You've got the bigger prize on the horizon!

Cox and Rioli getting forward spots before Betts is laughable...

In fact, the whole notion of an All-Australian team is laughable

ok , we ALL love Eddie Gangsta-Pants - and EVRYONE hates Milne - lets put allegiances aside here for a moment.

Ill also put my absolute admiration for the two players who I believe are in the top 5 most exciting players of the last 25 years aside, im taking about The Miraculous Fijian Flyer from the West, Mr NicNat PaddyWack give the man a throne, and Mr Squirrel Ravioli who is just the most mecurial player possibly of all time, (Cyril).

Eddie was great but Milne (and yes, if I saw him crossing a quiet suburban street I would speed up and hopefully get him) but I think Milne was better. Essentially because he had a bloke called N.Reiwoldt and occassionally Kozi too who are serious key forwards who should really have been kicking the majority - but when they failed - up stepped milne.

i bet if eddie had snuck home two late snaps in the last round in the last 5mins to snatch us the saints game - then he probably wouldve got it ahead of Mr. T.I.Prat.......

but pleeeeease Cyril, NicNat..............?? if they take in NicNats performance on Satnight gone v Coll, then Im really stumped - went missing so bad when they needed him most.
and cyril - well he missed 6 from injury. had games of under 12 possessions with little influence, and although he is just a SUBLIME footballer, when he actually EARNS an AA spot, it will be one to remember!!

nicnat away from WA always a step under what he is IN WA...........

Now MORE IMPORTANTLY - we were absolutely ROBBED for the Mark AND Goal of The Year last year
Lets just see if Eddie's Vs Bris even gets in the best 3!!

AND GET ON AND VOTE FOR THE YAZZATTACK'S Vs RICHMIND ROUND 1 Contender.....(actually votes closed i think - sorry)

i reckon if you asked them, both NicNat and The Squirrel, would be pretty embarased by their selections...............

Wouldnt you love a player to just be honest upon acceptance and say

'Well, I really dont think I had a good enough year to earn an AA spot, but I guess if you guys did, who am I to argue?"

And was the Tomahawk the best FF (or even CHF) of the year?

I reckon Jack Darling was worth a consideration at least - 20 y.o kicks 50+ with blokes like JK, NN, Cox, Lynch in and out of the fwd line - probably my fave player outside of CFC - I'd take hime ahead of Cloke for 5 x 1mill any goddam day of the week!!

As I posted before, if KB had anything to do with it, Betts would be no chance

Well, simply change the name then.

I wouldn't let Carlton players missing out on selection influence my opinion on what I think is an essential concept. That's throwing the baby out with the bathwater. Condemn the selectors, not the idea.

Yeah, fair enough... when does the opposition team named?

beats the $hit out of me why we passed this bloke over......I know nerds on forums aren't a great guide but quite a few WA supporters rated Darling extremely highly and would have taken him well before our 1st pick.

I don't pretend to know the reasons but I gather it was thought a 191cm forward wasn't what we were looking for....

Hindsight recruiting is frustrating at best.
