Five years under Ratten.. what was the number of games he could extract our players to win in a row???
2 ...3.2.3.... i think maybe one 4...???

even last week he stumbled....

ill be looking towards that as an indicator....

and plus the players didnt wanna play for him....

good to see you answered the question

Flags????

i dont buy into flags.....

i buy into platforms that will give u an opportunity to win flags....

Ratts couldnt build that platform.

Malthouse can...

Flags is fairyland stuff when you consider them as a gimme...

Anyway.... good grasp of our problems you have.. good stuff!!!

Lets just work towards something Ratten was never going to give us... a PLATFORM ... means prelims.. means players coming on... means more than 3 wins in a row followed by games being dropped when they shouldnt...

After we achieve that.... ill start looking into the future for flags and let you know.....

the question wasn't about flags

I will ask the question - Does it matter

Does it matter if it takes 1 or 100 years

I follow football for the fun of it - It's an out for everyday life , If you win you have bragging rights for a week over your mates - if you lose they can hang it on you - I have no vested interest in the club - Losing isn't going to effect my back pocket

Supporting football and watching football is entertainment - Does it matter if Arnie survives or dies or if his movie is a hit or flop - we are all critics

sometimes I think we all get caught up with the bullshit and put a greater importance on it than it really is

Spot On. As much as I love Footy & Carlton , I need the occasional reminder to put it into perspective.

Right on both counts, actually. :sly:

Should be pushing for top 4 minimum. A good trade and draft period and with our list I believe 14-15 wins is a minimum requirement.

Unless of course we have injuries.

The playing group is the problem too.

Frankly we are spineless, Jamo ? full back if fit,Hendo CHBack an improving work in progress, Centrehalf forward Waite ?,but only plays a 1/3 of season uninjured,Fullforward ? Walker,Levi still
unproven.
Ratts has been blamed for all our failures, i dont believe he deserves that .

That's not the kind of spine I'd be worried about personally.

1 year....2013...top 4.

In 2011 we won 14 games, and then won a final but we missed the prelim by 5 points in a game played away from home on WCE home ground, and Kreuzer, Hampson, Waite, Gibbs missing, Jamison on one leg, Setanta and TBird as our KPF's with TBird lasting only the first half after being stretchered off and a lot of inexprienced kids playing like Davies....all this against the tallest team in the comp and only went down because Tex didn't receive the free kick he should have.

In 2012 we expected top 4, so I can't see why we wouldn't in 2013. With half the team out with injury/ suspension we still got 11 wins out of the season.

So with a fitter and stronger list next year, a coupla new recruits (expected) and another preseason into the kids, we should end up top 4.

We can compete against Swans, Pies, Cats, and I'm sure we'll be aiming to beat Crows, Hawks and Kangas...so why not top 4 for whoever coaches next year.

If we expected top 4 this year then I would do the same for next year. We have the list with a fit squad (and a decent coach too).
