Just a win

I will go through the tape a little later on but on first vewing

Can't question endeavour
Decision making a little improved
Disposal ordinary still
How many times did players like Garlett over run the ball?

Like I said...just a win IMO

bootsma - stays
Brock - MUST stay, haven't been his biggest fan but he added plenty today
Warnock - stays

the 3 ruckmen card shouldn't be played again.
Waite to replace Kreuzer or Hammer

Hampson should have had 4. Took marks around the ground. Contested well.
Kreuzer, a different story. I think he needs to be the one to miss out if one of them has to based on output.
Robbo BOG. Hard nut who stepped up to replace Murph. Now he has to try and do it every week.
McLean played well and if he lack pace, it didn't show tonight.
Ellard serviceable as usual.
Touhy best he's played for a while. Jamo too. Bower the usual mix of good and bad but IMO has to stay.
Bootsma quiet but what he did was OK. Nice timer of the footy of his boot. Should stay in.
Judd was Juddlike in bursts and ran more than ususl with the footy.
Garlett quiet and missed that sitter.
Collins didn't show anything really.
Gibbs racked up a few possies but was pretty ordinary, gave away one goal and a poster plus one OOB on the full under no pressure. His confidence must be shot to ribbons because he is not the player we know he can be.
Warnock played OK, got lots of hit outs, including some very good ones and must stay in the team.
Eddie loves the space og the 'G'. We play better there, no doubt.
Simmo is getting tagged out of it every week but still gets a few kicks. If Robbo plays like that every week, Simmo will lose his tag pretty quickly.
Walker got a bit of it. I wanted him in the midfield but on tonight's performance I think he might be more suited to FP, although he covered a lot of ground and was still running at the end.

I thought we were flat early but always thought we would run away with it. Melb were agressive but in the wrong way. They went the man early (Robbo, Bootsma) instead of just playing hard footy. They controlled the footy for much of the first quarter but were never going to win.

I think 60 points is about right given we only played two quarters of reasonable footy.

I rarely bag the umpires but they were ordinary tonight and missed a lot.

Port next week. We should win that by about 40.

Bad luck to Collins. Hope his injury isn't serious.

In the top 6 with the top 8 all beating each other to keep us in touch.

Just because he is a whipping boy........WTF?
he is a whipping boy in form, leave he and Jamo down back and bring Hendo in to play up front.

What were they thinking, seriously?

Thought he was just about our worst player today.

So; instead of showing us singing our song; they show highlights of the other games; and then go to the News 2 minutes early...........

I thought i saw him out there.

MC knew Henda wasnt playing all along.

Thats what makes it worse
The bloke is in form FFS, what happens to his confidence when he is playing good footy yet they still threaten to drop him? They must reward good form

Even if Henda was fit, Bower must play
No sense in dropping him or threatening to drop him
Just stupid stuff :banghead: :banghead:

Id imagine he was never going to get dropped and he knew it. It was just a ploy possibly to take the dees eye off the ball for an hour or two when doing their prep. Every bit helps i guess even if it only helps us .00000001%.

Loved the way we finished the game off, Brock, Boots & Collins really grabbed there chance today, sorry to see Collins get hurt.

Yep, pleased we did display enough effort to blow the margin out. And agree on the players you have highlighted too. Shame for Collins, hope it's not serious for him.

But, let's be honest, it was a rubbish game and we would have struggled dearly against a better quality opponent. The best we can hope for is that the result does indeed boost our confidence.

Onwards and upwards, let's look ahead to next week.

Ellard, Robbo, Eddie and Brock all good.
Warnock is in our best 22. Walker looks the obvious choice to cover Murph. His second half run was good.
Thought Hampsons marking around the ground was good.

Bower appears to be treading water.Again today he gave it up several times. Curnow is a battler. Jeffy struggled. Gibbs serviceable but Im still looking for much more out of him.

Hey BS, disagree violently about your opinion on Bootsma and Collins games. Thought they both played extremely intelligent games, with both showing deft skills and balance

Rapt for Collins after his shithouse debut last year.

Not a fan of 3 ruckmen when it hits the deck they ran it out with ease

but

It worked at times when they stayed deep or when we delivered the ball the right way

with a Hendo in there so we can rotate the 3rd ruckman on and off at times
and with some better delivery it may be okay - certainly 1 game is not what to judge it on.

If they go with it though i think Hendo plays forward and Waite plays back (just cos I think Hendo will give a better contest time and time again)

Brock's handballs were very good today I hope he stays for the long haul.

Bower was solid today

and Bootsma is a ripper.

Bower did a good job and I can only think of 1 poor kick and even that went out and not to them.

Not overly concerned about the good result - more concerned about the teams confidence and form. Got about 25% back of what was lost over the past two matches... need to get a little bit more back against Port need to go into good'ish as opposed top form against Geelong & WCE..

First game I have been to in over a month. Sat behind interchange with some Melbourne mates.

Hard what really to make of it. Its a win and we needed it. Thought Melbourne tried hard but just made too many basic mistakes. I don't know what the stats were but it wouldn't surprise me to if they had as many possessions as up especially up to 3/4 time. The last qtr was a joke. Too many players dropped off and it was bruise free footy.

What ever the reason we really are struggling.

I thought McLean was good and worked hard. Needs to be played for at least the next 3-4 weeks. The issue I have is how he will go against better sides especially in defence. Today was just like a Bullants game and it suited him. If he is in Curnow can't be. Time for Touhy to go into the middle.

Really liked Collins game and hope he isn't hurt as bad as it looked. He is hard at it, runs all day and is a better user than people give him credit for. In our best 22 IMO.

Ellard was fantastic all day and has stepped into Carrazzo shoes. IMO he could really play BP when he is back. Very good overhead, strong over the ball and uses it well.

Warnock is easily our best ruckman and needs to keep playing. Cant play three ruck man as it just exposes us too much when the ball hits the ground. IMO Kruezer is probably ranked third at the moment.

Robbo fantastic. Amazed me last week when he played as a defensive forward! He is hard at it and in an area we struggle he has to be at the stoppages.

Bootsma has it all. Just needs time and patience. If he gets 8-10 games this year that will be great.

I thought AJ struggled and Garlett is really lost. Bower does a good thing and then does something stupid. Gets caught out of position too often for my liking.

Glad that we had to grind out the win and that Melbourne had a crack. Will do us a lot more good than a easy win with no pressure.

Very ordinary for three quarters against rubbish opposition, quiet similar to the game against GWS. I just hope the last quarter helps us regain some confidence.

Krooz needs a rest. I hope Boots doesn't play too many games this year, the kid could be a ten year player for us, but at the moment being so skinny and so green I do fear for his wellbeing.

Carbon copy of the GWS game, and we know what happened after that.

As bad a 10 goal win as we could have. Really, really poor for most of the game.

Those that want to can have their glass half full, mine's almost empty.

1st game that McLean has done what I thought we traded him to do. Well done Brock for toughing it out, must stay in the team!

I thought Collins was OK, didnt look too bad after the game, looked like hyperextension probably not ACL if he is up and about!

Warnock is our #1 Ruck!

Bootsma looked good, needs another 50 games and 10 Kgs but didnt look intimidated at all!

Robinson was great. Needs to do that to some decent teams
