He actually said Gold Coast.

I may have overreacted in the match thread....though it does concern me how we fade out so often, it's an almost weekly occurrence......we need to play 4 quarter football consistently week in week out to reign supreme in the comp.

In the scheme of things, a win away in Perth against a Freo team on the rise, with 3 big injuries and walkers first game underdone, got to be happy with that.

Footy is seriously hazardous to your health.

I think he said "an easier week" with reference to the 10 day gap.

Eddie in the middle was very clean in the 3rd quarter.Would like to see
him in there more often.
Jammo better tonight. The run will do him some good and he should be better again next week.
Hendo is really developing into a great defender.
Walker makes our forward line look so much more potent. He was very clean tonight.
Very Happy with the win.

1.1 to 3.5 in the last quarter.

We were lucky.

Walker - great first up game
Robbo - much improved this week
Eddie - showed leadership at really important moments
Hendo - owned our defence
Army - lifted after half time when needed
Scotto - experienced proved vital
Curnow - worked his arse off
Jamo - great 2nd half combining beautifully with Hendo

Great win. Load up on training now and get fired up for the next month.

Great coaching this week. Really adjusted the gameplan to engage in their silly game and came out big winners.

Gibbs set us up early out of the back half and from there others lifted and we got a pretty even team effort.

Could see blokes tiring late in the third. After robbo's goal in the last there were carlton players blowing up everywhere.

The heat and the extra day gave freo the legs to finish faster but they were not as good as us once there tactics were evened out by us.

Yep, on reflection I agree with this. Bank the 4pts and move on.

Think we should have scored another 3 goals or so though.

Simmo wins Man of the Match?

For which team?

Bloody hard ask to win after our debacle last week plus the heat plus the feral Freo crowd. I'm bloody wrapt TBH. Got away with win, no injuries, no reports. We play the spuds next week and can look forward to StKilda, Adelaide and Melbourne. Good start to the season despite last week.

He meant easy week on the track after a 6 day break/interstate trip

Good return to form for Jamo. Rest him next week?

Good to get the win and good to see us make some minor adjustments to the press, although we expended too much energy with passes too short for players to run onto and silly bits of decision making (notably Joseph, who while not slow of legs is slow of mind at times).

I think Walker, Russell, Jamison and Duigan's limited fitness were covered for by Scotland, Tuohy, Henderson, Garlett and Armfield. That caused the last quarter fade. Walker's output was still sensational despite that, but he cramped up half way through the last.
