Doc, didn't you have the same scepticism about how the club was reporting the Judd doona injury, which in fact all turned out to be true?

Stress reaction and stress fractures are worlds apart. Still incredibly sensationalist.

Read the article again.

Weasle words methinks

"Michael Jamison is expected to resume playing during the NAB Cup after recovering from a stress reaction of his lower back".

The NAB Cup goes until March 17, so he could be out for about 6 weeks.

I've had a reasonable explanation from a respected sports doctor re: their reporting of injuries, so I won't be too harsh. The doctor in question is one of the Docs for the Pittsburgh Penguins in the NHL.The onset of serious concussions in that league has forced franchise, media and supporter to accept the 'We're hopeful, but we don't have a timeline for his recovery to playing status as this stage'. I would prefer that than to say '5 weeks'.

They'd be hoping for 5. Still skeptical re: Judd. We'll see how quickly he gets back to full contact over the next few weeks. I'm all for giving him as long as possible, even if it means sitting him out of Rnd 1.

Well that's definately a bitch...but pre-season is better than mid-season.

fingers crosses that he and the club do what's required to make things right.

Thanks for the explanation Doc.

I understand that you are highly critical of our injury reporting, and you'd know better than myself, but as I mentioned a while back from an outsiders point of view I see this as an AFL - rather than just Carlton - trait.

Not really... mid season they would force him to stay out on the field....

Thanks for clearing that up.

Its not about hoping its about professionalism.
What we did to some of our football players was unprofessional.
Yeah when youre unprofessional you rely on hope.

Sounding like StKilda/Bulldogs supporters.

Dreaming.

There are things that need to be improved what happened to Curnow.. Waite and Jameson was totally ridiculous.

So keep hoping.

Id hate to see some of these players rushed back in.
Many people think were on the cusp.
Being on the cusp means youre prepared.
Your players are prepared and they can move straight in .

I bet every club has unjuries again this year.

Amazing .. every year.. every club.... injuries...

yes hope......!!!

Jameson has missed alot of footy over three years...

Its about how we cover it and other injuries and continue to cover it.

Its not about crossing fingers and hoping.

youre welcome

but the point is .... every club will have an injury maybe even 2 over the course of a season

its how you pick up the pieces and push through which will make u be succesful or not succesful

Freo last year was completely destroyed.

It might happen to us this year.

Or we might have an average year with injuries or whatever.

Gotta believe we can win the flag ...

All teams upto about tenth must believe it....wether you do or not is different.. only one will.

You dont wanna be hoping....its a real loser mentaliity.

Not having a go at you in particular Mrs Caz.. byt its the current fragile club psyche.. coaches and their low expectations.. supporters etc.

Except Sticks he said 3 in 5 years.

so must means 3 in 4 years now....

Its kind of weird to see us like this...

Not about Jameson really... im pointing out something im not liking about the club in general.

I think we need to treat Jamo like Clark Keating. He only needs to play 6-8 games a year. Target hs program for Aug-Sep and just rest him for the other 10 months of the year.

We will never get a full season out of him so let's accept that and manage him accordingly.

If the club says 3 - 5 weeks then I'm thinking 6 - 10 if last year was anything to go by.

As someone said earlier better to do it now than late season.

I don't think there's anything wrong with hoping and crossing fingers etc... Makes me feel better at least.

Good luck Jamo

Except it's been going on for over a year in Crosbys case and I can tell you Pittsburg fans are very frustrated... Especially during the lean period last month.
