Balls, if I'd known they were going to be at Harston PS yesterday I'd have hung around until they arrived

What a great day !!!

Short and Sharp !

It began at 2pm - 3pm when Judd, Waite and Simpson (with Gibbs a no show) were at our local Post office to sign autographs
and have a chat.

About a 30 min wait in line to see the guys and after several photos with my son and the boys, I hung around, after about 45 min,
the crowd left, what a great opportunity to chat with the guys. Waite was fairly quite, Simmo was absolutely great with my 4 year old son, and
Juddy has just got the all round package.

At 5pm-6pm the guys ran a clinic for the kids, and I think it was fair to say it was enjoyed by all. A decent crowd too !

The dinner 7pm - 10pm with the Boys arriving at 7.30pm. We had Aaron Joseph and Sam Rowe on our table. First impression of AJ
was that he didn't want to be there, but understand they had a huge day. He seemed to be a bit reserved to talking until I dropped
the F-Bomb and then he just opened up.
I sat next to Sam Rowe, and what gentleman. He was fantastic !!. I for one hope he has a great season. He did mention he has a bit
of niggling Shoulder injury but hopes be right to play Rd1 of the NAB Cup.

Guest speakers were Andrew Walker (from Echuca) and Andrew Collins. Also Murph and Dylan Buckley took some questions from guests.
Andrew Mackay finished off and was strong in his words by saying that the guys will take nothing less than a top 4 finish.

The guys one by one quietly left leaving behind Dylan Buckley. He was happy talking to us until someone
mentioned that his bus was leaving.

Nice propaganda and a good break from the rigours of pre-season training to freshen them up.

The whips will be cracking at the first training session.

Nice work Outback! What a massive thrill for the kids who are Carlton supporters to have the team up close and personal in their home town. It will stay with them their whole lives.

Much like my disappointment when Collingwood players visited my home town of 2,000 people in 1981. Actually, the only memory I have of the event is the little fat kid who wanted to show Gubby Allen how far he could spit the giant loogie in his mouth. That little fat kid is now a recognised Orthodontist. The kid chosen to kick the ball to Gubby and David Twomey for the photo shoot became a junkie. What a tragic waste of potential - being a junkie's not so good either.

Hey? A positive thread. Whoo hoo!!

I remember growing up with one of the Sexton clan and asking for Mick's signature everytime I met him. This was up to the age of 17 even

Nothing like meeting your sports idols when young. It's great by all clubs and the AFL to organise these events in the regional areas.

Fantastic. Great to hear someone from the club put their realistic expectations out there.
Top 4 should be a minimum

My niece had her first day at preschool in Rochester and she was pumped that Carlton came to visit. It's fair to say it's all downhill for her now!

You're upset that you couldn't find a reason to hang around outside a primary school? :|
