Tim Reinets or Ian Herman (always get them mixed up) might have kicked 3 goals with their first 3 kicks of the game.

Pretty sure John (Hopper) McCormick kicked 2 goals with his first 2 kicks in his first game (versus Sydney at Homebush Stadium 2003) - I was there we lost - badly.

There's a long list of goals with first kicks on the Blueseum:

http://www.blueseum.org/tiki-index.php? ... irst+Kicks

Ratts, Allan, Anstey, Daryl Gilmore...Gibbs, Carlos, Vin Waite!

it's an impressive list,

From the Blueseum

I reckon Tiger might've been high on debut......

Didn't Dean Rice do his knee (again) in his first game for Carlton?

Recently delisted Stephen Browne had a pretty decent debut game. I think it was an interstate game?

Crows at MCG, he took a massive ride but dropped the mark on debut

Same game when Waite was pinged a free kick in front of goal when the Crows had kicked a goal to seal the game, he punched it into the crowd and they got another kick in front without the ball going to teh centre of teh ground

Tim Reiniets first 2 or 3 kicks were goals and you are spot on with Jonathon, he snagged two with his first two kicks

Clen Denning's first six kicks were goals, a VFL/AFL record.

Ken Sheldon's first game (1977?) was against Geelong at Princess Park. It bucketed down all day, rain, hail, freezing cold, and the ground was under water. Final score was Carl 3.13 to Geel 2.12. I'm pretty sure that Sheldon kicked one of our 3 goals, and wore number 37.

Remember the game well, it was Friday the 13th, got stuck in traffic for hours and got in the ground just before half time when we had kicked 13 goals. Ricey does his knee in the 3rd quarter and watched a really boring 2nd half as Richmond came back and we hung on for a 4 goal win.

Remember that vividly, as seeing Mil a couple of weeks prior being bog in a praccy match and
thinking that he was going to be the new messiah.

I too recall that game, was it 1 goal to nothing at half time maybe ?
Was the coldest i have ever been at the footy, and i went to a lot
of games over a lot of years, gawd that was miserable day indeed.
Spectators should have got paid that day i reckon !!

After the hilarious Zach Tuohy bounce, Bomba Sheldon, Patzfitrick and I were pondering other great highs & lows from debut games to highlight inside the Blueseum somehow. We came up with:

HIGHS
Goals with first kicks - Ratts, Setanta, Garlett etc.
Walker's debut and flying mark

LOWS
Simpson not touching the ball until his fourth AFL match
Hanna's knee injury
Balkwill's only game being in light blue (M&M game)

Any others?

IIR, he flew FOR the mark but didn't take it. Nice debut just the same. Trouble is, we've been waiting for another one like it ever since. Getting close now.

Rd 12, 1977 - I missed the game as I was bit too young but made up for from 1979 onwards

My memory (which may or may not be accurate, given that I was 9 at the time) is that the only time it stopped raining all day was at half time.

Amazing that a team with such stars couldn't make the finals.

I reckon VFL park & the Western Oval (especially on a day like today) were the coldest grounds I ever went to
