IMO Russel and Laidler are definite outs.
There is not a hope in hell we would risk a player with a hamstring strain even if it is the slightest of strains.
Laidler's knee cap doesn't sound good, and of the 2 injured maybe he'd recover earlier than Russell, but not in one week...see Cooney
There's no way I'd play McLean for the same reason the MC shouldn't have selected and put Henderson in such a ridiculous position against the Bumbers in Rnd 4.
He isn't ready for AFL...he may never be again for all I know, but what is done is done and no point thinking about what he cost us. He may get better as the season unfolds. He needs to be much quicker by foot than he is atm. And his hand skills were not great last night and that's suppose to be his strength. He found it hard to hit targets. He's not ready imo.
Hampson did well in the ruck at times, and got his hands to the ball a lot, looked impressive at times....I'm talking potential here.
On a dry ground if we needed a competitor in the ruck Hampson's the man, but Setanta gives us more around the ground. Warnock will return to do battle with Brogan, Westoff and some kid. Along with Setanta (till Kreuzer returns) we have the ruck covered.
OUT: Russell Laidler McLean Hampson
IN: Warnock Henderson Houlihan Joseph....possibly (hopefully) Tuohy(preferred to for Joseph against Port) and Kreuzer...and maybe O'Keefe....who knows, maybe Bower shows he's still got a good fitness base and some form to go with that this weekend in the Ants.
I doubt Duigan will miss playing in his home town but if he does, that's a lot of changes, but at least all the above will have a bit of form, they will be fit to compete against the bottom team, and some could do with a senior hit out for all to have a look at where they are at.
I look forward to a 100 point win....and want Walker and Waite playing forward (with Kreuzer

)
