As much as I'd love to see Murph signed and sealed ASAP, it makes sense for him to wait. As mentioned, the CBA is going to result in changed to the cap, and salary structure (eg outside club payment endorsements, like Judd's Visy deal). This CBA I think will be on a whole new level of complexity to anything we've seen before. Add to that, when Murphy put talks on hold, he was quite possibly leading the Brownlow. A top-5 finish in the Brownlow (or even more so, a win) bumps his price right up.

Hey, can we leave this thread to discuss Murphy appearing on OTC?

The Wayne the Worriers can discuss him signing with GWS in the other thread.

They gave him about 5mins towards the end.

Wasn't bad, didn't really say anything you wouldn't expect. Got asked the usual range of boring questions.

Leaving his contract to his manager, wanted to play the first 7-8 rounds before they did.
A player like Waite can get away with that shot on goal, talked about it today, he might pass a little more for the rest of the season.
Brown/Richardson have given thoughts on how other teams percieve players/team.

Got a little distracted by him twitching his nose all the time and it appeared he was sweating.

Was a very 'nothing' interview.

He said a lot without saying much at all.

Didnt come on until about 9.10.
Gerard asked him straight away about his contract-the question went along the lines of "you have been at Carlton for 6 years now and for the past 12 months there has been speculation this will be your last". He didnt beat about the bush. Marc responded with he wanted to start off the year well, mentioned the first 7-8 rounds and his manager was working through it now and hoped to get it done and signed soon.
Mentioned that Richardson and Brown brought alot of information with them, including what other clubs thought of our players and ways to get the better of them. He said that it was good having Brown especially as he helped to explain how Collingwood put on frontal pressure and an insight into how they won the premiership.
He blushed a few times and i dont think he it totally comfortable in front of cameras.
He also mentioned the positive impact that Diesal Williams had on him in the 2 years he was coaching at the club.

Most pertinent point was made by Roos comparing Yazz's intoduction as a defender to that of Heath Shaw (took a long time to come good, even though MM was crticised for doing it)

Why didn't MM defend himself though?

They said before Murphy came on that they would discuss Selwood. They either ran out of time or forgot.

It seemed that Gerard could't wait to piss him off.

He cetainly didn't get the time Sir James did a few weeks ago.

Malthouse use to explain himself of the Shaw tag issue all the time. He just did it using proverbs and riddles.

Murph needs a few proverbs for his interviews.

He had a good Williams fable though.

The only thing i got out of the interview is that Murphy has gone a couple of shades lighter on top.

Chapman last week was given double the amount of time that Murphy was given tonight. Why bother.......

Better off just having Ratten appearing on the show.

It was only worthwhile because he's a Carlton player. Daniel Jackson on OWAAT was much more interesting and had a lot more to say.

Murph just wanted to hide underneath the chair. He looked nervous.
