The only thing i love more than footy itself is " The Carlton Football Club ".

That bloke is a runaway sue and wont be missed. There is no such thing as 99% loyal. You are either loyal or you are not.

I'm with you Mick - he can piss off! A true supporter follows through thick and thin. Makes the good times sweeter. I appreciate a good game of footy but still love watching the Blue Boys more than any other.

Go Blues!

I wonder if this bloke has ever watched a AFL game live. I bets he supports a different team each week. Must have been a slow news day if this type of garbage is getting a run.

I have if anything learnt to love my club more than ever after going through the hard years from 2002 - 2008, as a kid l took everything for granted barracking for the Blues. Premierships were expected, playing in finals was a given and being disliked but respected as a foe was what i loved about being a Blues barracker. I had the honour of watching us win 5 flags live at the MCG.

The 'hard years' hurt, but I have seen more Carlton the last 10 years than what I did the previous 10, this was mainly due that I was still playing local footy every Saturday, but on odd the time i could I sometimes go I didnt bother as much. Once we hit rock bottom I felt obliged to go to as many games as i could and wear the club colours, other then interstate games I have hardly missed a game since 2002. I used to cop it at work and from mates but I used to wear a CArlton cap around, put Blues stickers on mine and missus cars'.

I remember telling my daughter and nieces and nephews that we may be bad, but we will turn it around. You just wonder how many potential supportesr we lost as a result of the slump, when membership drives were increased and more awareness was about about becoming a club member at the time when we were the easybeats. When young kids start to get into footy and our profile was low, we would have lost a stack. Lets hope we can start turning that around now.

We need finals appearnces regularly and to win finals - this will build our membership and game attendances. I hate the Pies but I dip me' lid to them on how they have done this so, so well.

After all that, the only thing I can really say is that I could never barrack for another club, I love the Blues through and through and its my 33rd year straight as a piad up member.

Go the Baggers

Lets be very clear on one thing here, M. Coulter (article writer) was never a Carlton supporter. There is an add in Britan where a father looks sternly at his young son, he says, "Son choose very carefully, because the team you choose will be yours for the rest of your life." The sons lip slightly quivers and he nods knowingly. The father was talking about English football but the principle here is the same.

I chose the Blues while sitting on my dad's lap as a 4 year old watching Jezza. Dad would tell me stories about playing against him as a kid in Canberra.

Watching Carlton play and win is the most wonderful feeling. I enjoy the greater game of football too. I like the way Geelong go about it. Love watching Jack Riewoldt and Buddy cut them up. I love this game of ours which we invented and which captures the imagination of Australians. While this game is great and gives me joy no matter who is playing, at the back of my mind is the mantra;

I'm Blue until I die, Blue until I die, I know, I know, I know, I know,
I am Blue until I die.

I've threatened it quite a few times in the past but it's ultimately hollow, the side would have to do the most outlandishly counter-productive thing; if I've survived John Elliot, I'll most likely survive anything. If Carlton's in the compatition then I'll be barracking for them. On the other hand, I'd most definitely nominate another club if something happened to the Blues; whether it would ever be the same is another matter entirely.

However, I do think they are still stuck in an earlier decade in which they had it much more easy than they do now.

The only team is our beloved blues, I couldn't give a Ratts toss about any other player or team, once he dons the great navy blue jumper we embrace him with love & he becomes ours, our warrior who represents what all Carlton stand for!

I've always said, winning a Carlton B&F is more prestigious than the Bronlow & captaining the blues is only second behind being the Prime Minister of this great country of ours!

Darat darat Dara, darat darat Dara....u folk all know how the rest goes!

Yeah, but more for writing about it and thinking that anyone would give a toss, than anything else.

Sure i scream at the TV and get frustrated and get a few more grey hairs every game....but I love the Carlton footy club and will never be a bandwagoner like this pleb.
