It's a difficult one.
Jamo back in is a cert.
Paul Bower I would question if he is OK to go - didn't play in the Bullants. If so both White and Watson make way for Bower and Jamo. If not then who out of Watson or White stays in? Neither is up to it yet against the Filth.
I would assume Henderson is ready after 2 games in the Bullants. I would keep Thornton in for insurance.
I think Ellard would be handy but not sure at the expense of - maybe Armfield?

does ratten have the balls to make the needed changes

we have to bring hendo, jamo, bower back

we need our KPPs

imo drop thorton - good game against a weak opposition - NO PASSENGERS!!!

Agree with Waite needing to play CHB.

He plays his best footy in the backline breaking the lines.

No chance in hell should Laidler be dropped.

b: russell jamo laidler
hb: yarran waite duigan
c: scotland gibbs simpson
hf: garlett hendo collins
f: betts thornton walker
r: warnock judd murphy
ic: carrazzo curnow robinson
e: hampson

in: jamo collins hendo
out: army white watson [no need to crucify him - play him against the bombers following week]

thornton can take a mark and kick straight - hampson can not, unfortunately.

Firstly, Thornton is a good mark (and a good kick from a standing position) against all opposition, not just weak. Thornton deserves to play....switching between back and forward. No need to telegraph to those vermin that we'll play him up forward from the first bounce. Give him instructions to travel between the arcs, defend when we need him and attack when we need him. I'd also give him 5-7 minutes each qtr at FF.

Secondly, I'm hearing that Bower didn't play yesterday. IF THAT'S TRUE, SHOULD NOT COME INTO CONSIDERATION.

Thirdly, Jamo for Duigan/Laidler, Armfield as a running back and White as the sub. White can play F and B and is insurance

Fourth, I Hendo is fully fit, maybe Hendo in and White out with either Thornton or Duigan or Laidler as sub

Fifth, Collins should come under some sort of consideration if there are issue with injuries

GO BLUES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's the impossible dream but IF we can wreck their party, MAYBE we'll plant the first seeds of doubt into those flowering f.............ckers (fire truckers)

it's great having Watson for kick ins. What a woof on him!

Hendo might be a bit underdone...but Thornton always plays well in Bullants..and GC were more like that...so I'm not too excited about his goals.
On the other hand, it is good to have a defending forward, while Hoops is out..so..???
Mybe Yazz woud be better in that role though, if both Jamo and Bower come back.
Otherwise, aren't they gonna put Yazz on Krakouer?

As much as he sheets me, you can't drop a guy (Thornton) after he just kicked 4 goals.

Bower hasn't played for weeks so would play VFL.

I'd do...

OUT : White
IN : Jamo

OUT : Army (needs a full game in VFL)
IN : Ellard

Watson has to stay in his kicking will be crucial to get over the Pies press.

Henderson needs to play a very good game before he comes in. And you just can't drop a guy after kicking 4 goals regardless of who it was against - it sends the wrong message to the playing group

In Jamo out White.

Thorntons big chance to show us he is a forward.

Win the clearances. Stoppages and contested ball around the wings. Get the ball deep in our forward line in a manner that does not allow them to rebound quickly. Set up our press makes sure we score when we force a turnover.

WHen we do manage a rebound 50 makes sure we go long over their zone to a one on one. They are as shaky as us in that situation.

Thats out best chance IMO.

Lose contested balls and the ball will be in their half locked up in their press and they will score when we turn it over.

I am not expecting to win but if we can make some inroads and get a good look at them and what they are trying to do against us and see what works for us we will benefit.

minimal changes for mine so jamo in for white.

Thornton deserves another shot after last nights performance.

Depending on how the MC goes, I suspect we might see armfield out for either collins or lucas. Not sure if its beneficial to have any player being a regular sub so we might see that player rotated through then ants in order to maintain match fitness/touch

Jamo easily back in the side, well done to Whitey though

Bower would be missing plenty of touch and don't see him coming back in, Watson keeps his spot.

Thornton for Hendo? I'd keep Thornton in, Hendo's match fit but he's a confidence player and I just
don't see him coming in and having a blinder against Collingwood. Thornton would be handy to fill the
gap in defense at times if we need it.

Armfield needs a run and I would swap him and Collins who had a BOG performance for the Ants, the
more capable forwards we also have to make the Collingwood defenders accountable, the better.

Robbo and Simmo had quietish nights and watch for them to come out all guns blazing and I would want
Ratts to be in Robbo's ear about Ellard, Army, Lucas etc all knocking on the door.

Warnock and Hampson need to have good games, because the Collingwood rucks will be effective, our boys
need to at least break even.

IN: Jamison, Collins
OUT: White, Armfield

Russell, Jamison, Duigan
Yarran, Watson, Laidler
Simpson, Gibbs, Robinson
Garlett, Waite, Betts
Hampson, Thornton, Walker
Warnock, Judd, Murphy

Curnow, Scotland, Carrazzo, Collins*

Yarran on Krakeour when on
Russell to Didak
Jamison on Cloke
Watson with help on Dawes (very dangerous)

Carrazzo on Swan

Need to keep an eye on Johnson and Shaw too, forward line looks
dangerous enough though.

I don't have a problem with most of the mooted changes.

Keeping Thornton in and playing him forward.

Watson if only for his game breaking kick ins.

Armfield for Collins, more strike power.

But what gets me is everyone has White out for Jamison. Sure Jamison has got to come back but why not for Laidler. Against Colonwood you need guts and determination for what will be a physical contest and I reckon White has so far shown G & D more so than Laider in his 2 games with the Blues.

I have to laugh at the C'wood hype. They have beaten 2 very weak sides so far and everybody is going beserk. Somebody said on the radio that he expected them to be top of the ladder at seasons end by 4-5 games......

Now I hope the hype continues and that some of their players think their own bowl movements smell like roses. This gives us a real chance. Lets go in hard from the start - it might shake them after the arm chair ride Port and North provided them.

You are aware they won the flag last year, right?

'pies played a side that was short on talent, cooked in Perth last week and had a short turn around.

We should be very fresh after the GC game.

I can't see us winning, but I dont see us getting blown away.

This will be a real test for us. We have had two warm up games and should be relatively fresh and fit. We need to stick to the game plaln and not get sucked in by the 'press' and the Pies rough house tactics. Win next week and we make a statement that we have arrived and top four is a real possibility.

And with a six day break ...

OUT: Duigan, White, Watson
IN: Lucas, Jamison, Bower

Duigan & White should definitely be dropped. I've lost count of the number of times where Duigan has smashed into his own player and opened up the play for the opposition in both matches now. If that were the sole problem, it would probably be ironed out come round 3, but he also gets side-stepped way too easily. Lucas or Armfield could do his job IMO.

Henderson is still grinding out some form for the Bullants, so I'd stick with Thornton out of the square alternating with Waite up-field for another week. Those who felt Thornton hadn't been working on his field kicking & run got a rude shock last night I'm sure.

Watson will stay if Bower doesn't come up. Can also see Ellard or Collins coming in as the sub, but I think that leaves us a bit hamstrung in the versatility stakes.

I reckon they will bring in Jamo, Henderson for White and Watson ... but I hope they keep Watson ... his long kicks would be very useful breaking down the Pies zone. Dunno who else could be dropped ... to me Armfield is one player we need for the run ... was very surprised he was the sub last night ... definitely should not be dropped. Also can't see how you could drop Thornton.

Its a real Conundrum.

Would like to see Collins in as well .. but go figure.

Not sure why people keep posting that Waite (or Hendo for that matter) will play CHB or in the backline at all. They are both earmarked as our forward KP's and will be the foundation of our forward line.

And Bower and Jamo have missed the same amount of footy. Not sure why one would slot straight in and the other would need to return via the Ants. :?:

Jamo was out suspended and played last week in a praccy match, bower was out injured and hasn't played for 3 weeks.
