Sorry for the many questions.

If I purchase the tickets as if I don't have a membership will that be more expensive than if I did purchase them using my membership? And does that also mean that it's not counted as me having attended a game, so in essence I will be attending 12 games this season (I have an 11 game membership), but just paying more for this reserved seating.

The 11-game membership applies only to home games, so by purchasing a regular ticket, you're getting entry into a game you wouldn't otherwise be able to get into, and you're not losing anything on your membership.

from the membership email this week:
Quote:
This Friday night is Carlton's away game and only Carlton 18 game away reserved seat members will have guaranteed entry to the ground should capacity be reached on the night. Carlton 18 game members who do not have away game reserved seats will have free entry to the ground but subject to capacity.

As the season progresses there will be further matches that are declared as a high demand match which means that you will be required to upgrade to a daily reserved seat through Ticketmaster or Ticketek (depending on venue) to be guaranteed entry to the ground.

Carlton has secured seats for our members for away games on a seasonal basis - avoid ticketing agency fees, avoid queues and avoid sitting with opposition supporters.

To purchase now for Friday nights game, contact Membership Services on 1300 CARLTON (227 586).

Credit where credit is due to the membership dept, rang up, had a bit of a whinge, begrudgingly accepted I won't be getting one of those nice scarves, but settled for a membership cap.

Was sent out next day. Well done.

Yep, officially the scarf is a no go for AFL Members regardless of when you renewed. If we spent more money on reserved seats or Social Club upgrade we'd get one.

Obviously we're not real members so maybe next year I'll just remove the Club support from my membership. I wouldn't want to be the next person to call me about the raffle tickets either.

I couldn't care less about the scarf but don't treat us like idiots, send our pack out after round 2 and call us 3 times asking to fork over $200.
