Seems to be to attract a bigger crowd than the usual Saturday morning mob and entice them to buy a membership with free entry.

Why 4pm?

By the time most people finish work at 5pm and spend another 20-30mins getting to the ground it'll be 3/4 time.

Because the AFL & the CFC are flower. Couldn't give a !@#$%& about their members.

The only time they really want you is to stick you hand in your pocket.

Feel free to follow another sport then?

Much easier for an interstate team to fly in, play and then fly home on a Friday afternoon.

Also frees up the weekend for the clubs to rehab, and have a free weekend before the proper stuff.

Just for the record CFC have nothing to do with the scheduling or the teams they play, that is all done by the AFL.

I wonder if 5AA will broadcast it, like they did a couple of years back?

Meant to be having people over for dinner Friday. Think they will notice if I turn up an hour late?

Adelaide TV news reports suggest that Crows will field their strongest team of the practice matches so far. It should be a good game.

Crows are looking good this pre-season, McKernan, Walker and Tippet will tell us whether our defence has improved over the summer.

Be prepared for THE most biased commentary in the history of the sport. If you don't have a thick skin for that type of thing, don't listen.

The Crows are generally a well drilled side with an emphasis on zoning and team defence. I am looking forward to see how our gameplan has been tweaked to play against such teams. Rather than over concerning ourselves with getting through the zone i would like to see us develope our own zone to the point where it rare that we are scored against.
I would imagine like most teams we will be stealing a lot of things from the Pies and i reckon we are well placed to steal and do well with those tactics.
One of my interests this season will be watching teams with very similar tactics come up against each other. I am keen to see how Collingwood would go against a team playing them with identical tactics. The first GF last year was close to that.

I am predicting a lot of arm wrestles this year.

Im my opinion this game on friday could give us a small glimpse of the future.
