If not Robbo and Ellard, although they are still a bit green and could do with a bigger tank.

Agree with the various names above, also Waite if he gets time in midfield, only has to make sure he doesn't go over the top and get rubbed out.

Other way round for mine.

They both have the all-round ability to play inside and out, but Gibbs' lack of pace won't be exploited if he plays inside. He has the size to play the role (his frame is a dead ringer for Hadley's) just needs to develop the hardness. Murph is a weapon outside with his run.

Having said all that, I'd prefer if we could get Cachia up to the level and see if Ellard can make more progress. Need a quality blue collar worker.

Yes, losing Grigg hurts right now.

um, not sure how ellard is big enough to player the role in question?

has to be mclean.

can't see a role for robinson in the middle (hmm or elsewhere?)

separately, looking forward to seeing tuohy in action next year. he really showed some class towards end of year for Antz, am looking fwd to seeing him play in 2011.

Spot on BH.

No more passengers. It has to be a team focus to be hard at the ball and help your teammate so everytime there's a stoppage someone is getting free'd up, doesn't have to be Judd or Murphy.

Why can't you see a role for Robinson in the middle or elsewhere?

IIRC, Worsfold used Rowan Jones to block for Judd in a premiership season and the rest of his games.

Jones was no world beater, yet played 158 games.

There were some outright spuds playing for Collingwood in the GF, but they play their role within their game plan.

The funny thing about Richmond chasing Grigg is that I recall Robinson having more big moments in the games they've played with Carlton. The only standout individual acts I can recall Grigg doing is snapping the sealer against Collingwood and body lining a ground ball against two Port players in a come from behind win. Robinson is definitely a better mark, better kick for goal and a better team player than Grigg, but doesn't have clean hands and good awareness in close just yet.

Matthew Kreuzer!

He is my big ruck-rover for 2011 in around the clearnces and stoppages. Always but always paves a path with his contesting, hunger, ground work and big body. Loves the physical stuff and is as good as any with running hard and straight. Clean hands below his knees. Time to unlesh him on the comp as a roaming big follower. Can still do some ruck work and forward work ofcourse but mainly he is my big lump in the middle more often than not.

How bout we have other people getting the odd clearance.

That would stop the opp from lining up Judd at every stoppage.

Murph, you need to get more first possie this year!

Hopefully Kreuzer and McLean will step in and take care of the grunt work. I'd rather see Murphy with much more of an outside role next year.

While I agree with this, Walker is likely to be a 'hard' body that will spend more time in the middle next season. Hopefully we will also see more of Brock in 2011 as well.

I could see Marcus Davies being developed into this role - he is the right size and will have another pre-season under his belt so may suit up bigger in 2011.

Who's gonna help Judd now?

Yeah the poor guy is getting married, always a recipe for a life of misery.

Ahh who am I kidding. Rebecca is gorgeous, smart, personable, helps little kids and knows her footy. I'd marry her in a heartbeat.

Oh on the field, dunno maybe Robbo and Mclean can play tag team.

Well at least you know Brock won't shake hands with Rebecca before he does the business all over her.

And I think there are many people on here, irrespective of gender, who would want to marry Judd

I think this is the wrong question.

Grigg played 7-8 average games, some good; he could get better.

Hadley played 8 games for the year; some good, some pretty rubbish

McLean played 6 games for the year; some good, some ineffective

Chris Judd won the Brownlow.

Chris Judd is a better inside player than any of the players listed above and is a better outside player than anyone else on the list.

The question is more about how the midfield grouping can convert more clearances to positive scoring opportunities for the team. Does the loss of the former 2 hinder this? Umm,,, errrmmm,,, ..... probably not.

Thi.....I mean, er, well said.

Neither Hadley or Grigg played in our two best wins for 2010, so they are easily replaceable if everyone plays their part.

It's a bit like saying who'll protect Lenny Hayes if Robert Eddy got delisted.

Team effort mate, but if i had to make a choice it would be Robbo the nutcase, assign him the role to be an enforcer around stoppages, or, Brock the Rock is as hard as nails and isnt fond of handshakes.

Need to have the "soft" tag dropped, need to be tougher and more unsociable ala Hawks 2008 without the suspensions and carry over points.

Massive fan of Cachia, probably mentioned somewhere else that i used to work with one of his development coaches from the Knights, reckons he could be anything if he realised his potential and didnt think it was all just going to happen for him, also said that was one of the reasons he fell so far in the draft. I know it means little but also said he comes from a very wealthy family and private school background which was where the attitude comes from.
Really want to see him Davies and Tuohy playin 1's regularly next year.

Also want to see Labi playin more Ants seniors next year, following his progress closely.

Also Mitty, you have to admit you've had a man-crush on Grigga for a couple of years, and i said around the start of the year that he would be gone come seasons end and you cracked the shits remember??. Although i thought it would be to the Suns.
That money hungry prick was obviously gesturing to the coaching staff after he kicked that goal (cant remember who it was against?) Does anyone remember which game i am talking about?

Maybe against the scum?
