Get Kouta back ... he is firing fit. Why not? ... he would still get heaps of the ball.

Kouta and Judd in the middle ... oh boy.

This 'identity' is not supposed to express opinions as part of our self-imposed posting rules, but can we just offer:

Stat summary for Kouta - 16 seasons, 270+ games, 82 brownlow votes, 11 B&F placings - including 2 wins!!

http://www.blueseum.org/tiki-index.php? ... outoufides

versus

Stat summary for Waite - 8 seasons, 130 games, 16 votes (2 per annum), 3 B&F placings - no wins:

http://www.blueseum.org/tiki-index.php? ... 3A+J+Waite

No doubt Waite has talent, has had a good year, and is remarkable in some things he does.

But we're talking Footy Royalty here.

I like Waite, but Kouta was a freak, one of the most talented players ever to pull on the navy blue. He was a new millenium Geogre Coulthard. Waite has talent but not Koutaesque talent. He has been a consistently inconsistent player. He needs to play much smarter and more disciplined footy. I don't expect Kouta of 2000, but one consistent season would be good. The trouble with Jarrad was demonstrated in the final v Swans. Did some very good things, gave away a stupid tiggy behind the play free that cost a goal, took good marks, fumbled easy ones, had a few brain fades and argued with the umpire while his opponents got on with it.

Its a now or never year for Jarrad. He should be aiming for top 3 in the B&F. Hoe owes everyone to use his talent fully and all the time.

Only Kouta could have a 2000 season. Was on a different plane to everyone else in the AFL. Sublime, nearly brought tears to the eyes.

Waite is a highly talented and versatile player, but come on!!!

Agreed. If Waite stays on the park he could, no should, be AA but that's where any comparison ends.
Kouta's 2000 IS the best season i've ever seen from any player and i go back to the late 70's.

That 2nd Q against the Swans at PP is the most remarkable display of a man pitted against boys that i've had the pleasure to witness. Seem to recall Roos saying something along the same lines after te game also. We can only dream that Waitey could manage half as much and win a few of his own boot.

The comparison by the blueseum is interesting and it shows that Kouta's best years were his 8th, 9th and 10th seasons. Waite is in his prime right now and he should be able to deliver in 2011.

In order for Waite to take this kind of step or have this kind of season, we will need to release him to the wing and let him run. It's a very exciting thought but currently is needed to play forward and this is the conundrum we must address. Find a forward to support Henderson and thus allow Kruezer 3rd man forward and this just might become reality!
Where's the other forward though?

and bring back Symons or whatever his name was back for west coast. Then play Waite on him on the wing. Done
